As the board gets busier
I see that many threads and polls are getting more and more pointless.

It's probably that it's getting close to golf season and everybody is on the edge of their seat ready to play. Most just want to talk about golf, anything about golf such as what color ferrell will go with my new golf shoes, or are hot pink golf tees a bad thing . You probably should be used to this by now cause it happens every year . By the way do you think 15 pockets in my new golf bag is excessive?? maybe I should wear a fanny pack also . Ya it's kinda like that

See, this kind of annoys of me. This forum is for everyone. Someone thought enough of a subject to post something. You obviously took the time to read it. Who's at fault? Not the poster. Let freedom reign!

I knew I wasn't the only one! I've been saying this for over a year now, at least, and it just seems to get worse and worse. Now I just scroll past the known posters who post just a smiley or a thread that is really silly. Seems like those who have more then 3500 posts in a year and a half, are more concerned with their post number then golf. On the other hand, at least the thread hijacking in the classified sections are down and for the most part these threads are being kept in the almost anything thread, which is nice. Except for this one ironically.

Like Nat said everyone is getting to the point where we need to play some golf.. The beauty of it all.. you don't have to read what you don't want to..

Pointless threads... Freedom of speech... Fun for some, not for all. As long as it's within the rules, I'd rather the mods stay out of it.
It leads into the subject of thread titles and Post icons (which appear beside the thread in forum lists). It would be nice if people would use the post icons and/or be more specific when deciding what title to use for your threads. Let's be clear in naming so those who want to read silly stuff can, and those who don't want to can skip it.Life dinnae come wit gimmies so yuv got nae chance o' gitt'n any from me.

I can't say anything cause I have over 3500 posts and I would want to irritate the lord and masters of the golf world who think everyone is only interested in their posts whining about idiots like me As I said in a previous posty, of the forum owner wants me to quit posting dribble and useless banter that amuses my simple mind, then just tell me and I will go elswhere.... it as simple as that Until the 2 or 3 (0r 100) that don't like it don't convince the owner that we are ruining the fun of this great forum, I will continue posting my smileys or one word wise crack or anything that is within the forum rules..... I believe it is called freedom of speech

When you sit in front of this screen after listening to the world news and all of a sudden you burst out laughing at some funny crack or retort by one of the "lords of the forum" I for one will contimue to participate and to relish in the humor posted by all.
Does the 2nd hole-n-one come easier ?

About this time of year we also always get a post like this! lol.
Either way the more threads that get opened with anything golf related just give google spiders more food which is good for the site. Just stay away from posts that have the BIG SMILEY icon.

Banter back and forth is fine in the correct threads. It's the "thread jacking" that is the problem. You don't need to feel like you need to post in every thread (especially if it is nothing to do with the thread title or the way the discussion is going).

for those of you who get annoyed with all the senseless posts and sillyness... I would hate to play a round of golf with you guys. What do you serious people talk about when you play golf? You talk about your caps, draws and fades, highlights from previous rounds ect? So what do you do the next time you play that person? Talk about the same stuff? Talk about the "market" and talk about politics? Boring!!! I would probably fall asleep mid round if I played with you people!
To the person who said 1.5 years and 3500+ posts are more interested in their post count rather than golf... did you think that maybe they use this site to keep in touch with their friends and unlike you, they have made some good friends on this site and that is the reason they have a ton of posts in a short period of time???
