Ditto on what Mike said about Manderley. Expect to plug a couple of drives. I did! Twice! But unfortunately only found one of the two. I could not believe how nice the greens were.

BTW Mike, when did you guys tee off? We teed off at 10:30.

I played today (sunday) and the greens were in very good condition for this time of year. The fairways were wet though but what can you expect it was raining.

Played Nation Saturday. Excellent condition for spring. Only #15 a bit wet for last 100 yards in front of green.

Greens a bit bumpy but OK.

    Weather was great.

Just heard from a member that Tecumseh opened last Wednesday (closed today for obvious reasons). Did not see it on the Spring Openings calendar. Any special reason?

Manderley says: No carts out until the weekend. I'd expect some puddles.

Champlain's still soaked on half of the fairways and the greens are bumpy. It's not so soaked that you can't get an honest swing at most shots, but expect to get wet feet unless you're an elf. Should be dry enough for a passable round by the weekend.

Nation is in excellent shape. Only one hole - #15 - a bit soggy in front of the green. Easy walk.

Just in case you want to play again tomorrow.

Playing Meadows & Metcalfe this weekend I'll give a review but I'm expecting very wet lol. Metcalfe I suspect will be wetter then Meadows. If it wasen't so far I"d go to LVM as it seems to dry up quickly.

I Played LVM today and it had it's fair share of wet spots. Greens were pretty bumpy too. Did it bother me? Not a bit. Brilliant sun, warm, good company, golf....I could have shot a million and I would have had just as good a time. What a great day!

Played the Canadian (West course) today on opening day. Fairways are soft and green are slow but in very good shape. Ball plugged only once, on #12. Did not see water on the fairways with the exception of the practice hole which I did not play anyway and quite a few bunkers (just avoid them ... Shoes were dry at the end of the round. Boy it's good to be out ! First birdie of the season on #8 made my day, the Sens win tonight made it a second day. East course still closed and should open early next week.

I'm playing Renfrew Sunday. Anyone ever played there in early spring - I'm thinking it's well drained and should be OK.

Played Irish Hills today, decent condition considering its a fairly cheap place compared to other courses. All of the greens were really really nice IMO. The fairways were hit or miss, some of them were bone dry, some were a little squishy, and some were totally soaked.

    Played Meadows Today:

The greens are in great shape and roll very well. I played South and West. The West was in better shape. The sides are clear of leaves and the fairways are in alright shape. Some grass is dead some isn't but we've had a weird opening for the season. I did not plug any balls but got almost no roll.

Good condition for this time of year and like I said earlier the greens were in great shape.

Played Renfrew this morning, it's in fantastic shape for this time of year. The fairways are dry but the grass is on the longer side and should be cut soon. The greens still have some aeration holes but they are fairly well filled in and shouldnt affect puts too badly. Overall an amazing round at a great course.

    Played Metcalfe Today:

Metcalfe was in alright condition. The course was relatively dry in most places and well raked. The fairways were in alright condition some holes alot better than others. Some of the greens were great others were under repair. Offhand I'd say 1/3rd of the greens are under repair or have been freshly? lay(or put in last fall) and waiting for growth to blend them in. Hole #6's green was surprisingly good if anyone remembers it last year. It has fully grown in and rolls well.

Metcalfe re-did several greens last year.
Hopefully it won't take long for them to grow in.

played the south at emerald links this afternoon. Great shaped for april. Greens were great, no winter kill at all. i was pleasantly surprised with the conditions. Bunkers were not good but serves me right for being in them.

Vieux Moulin = as dry as it can be. Greens were punched but were still in ok conditions. Heck, I got 7 pars in my first round of the season, by far my best round ever as I played in the 95-100 all of last season untill the last game of the season.

I guess a winter break did some good to me..

Played Greensmere today, it's in fantastic early shape. Hardly any wet spots, greens are in great spring condition, just a tiny bit bumpy compared to the normally perfect greens there in the summer.

Played Predator today, it was in very good shape, greens in great shape and only a few damp spots on a couple of holes. Very good first game!

Played Upper Canada last night. The greens are in good shape and the course is dry. Very good condition for this early in the year. Give it a week of sun and the course should be in excellent shape

    Pakenham - Great Shape

LMS - you were asking about Pakenham.

The two nines (Lake and Caynon) I played yesterday were in Great shape.

Very dry and greens were very good - a little bumpy with last fall punch holes but very puttable

    Lombard Glen-excellent shape

Wow, played Lombard today. The conditions were utterly amazing. Mid-summer shape. Some of the greens were a little shaggy, but lush and perfect roll. No winter kill whatsoever.
Any club would be proud to have their conditions, especially this early.

Played Le Sorcier yesterday and it's already in very good condition. The greens are kept longer and a little slower but that's normal for this time of year.
