Course is scheduled to open April 25th.

The twilight rate is very good as is the weekend afternoon rates.

yes...seeing as the old rate was $75 all the time, there is some good and bad to this. I guess we should be happy we can still play it....

Opportunity rate (after 2pm on weekends) is always the best time for guest rates. Or, tee-off early in the morning and play a second round for free in the afternoon. (if the member bringing you is up for it...and the course can fit you in).

Also, in case it makes it any better, this rate does include access to the range and pull-carts.

I like the 36 hole option...BTW, Is it still open to the public this year? I can't remember? if so, could you play 36 under that deal?

Oh right... it is still daily fee this year. I am not sure about whether or not the deal is in place. I think it would be since it is a 'daily fee' and not a green fee. That being said, the course will be busy this year so they may not be able to fit you in for a second round. It is up to the discretion of the pro-shop.

I like what we're paying for our event there this year.
Now of course, next year is a totally different ballgame.

    Eagle Creek

Just my opinion but I find $100 to play Eagle Creek quite expensive unless they do have the "Daily Fee" and you can squeeze in 36. Yes it is one of the nicest courses in the area and it appears Club Links certainly has made it clear they do not want many green fee players.

$100....if you shoot in the low 80's it seems like you are being robbed.....that is a little over a dollar a shot.....

Well, next year it will be completely private so depending on the tee-time, unless you have a member for every foursome you will be out of luck.

Well, it is not that they don't want the green fee players... just not as many. Which is why prices need to go up a bit. After all, they need to give those green-fee players some incentive to join.

What was it last year? $80 ?? If you factor in access to the practice range it is really not going up that much. Plus I am sure Clublink will make improvements to the course and service which will add extra value.

I think it was $75 total incl. tax, now it is $114, so it has gone up $39.

But it was $75 all the time.

now it is $100 for peak, but for $65 you can play after 2, or grab the twilight after work and pay on $50.00

so actually it allows people to play Eagle creek and play less if need be,

I think quite fair for a course that is in the top 75 in country and is a private members club.

Actually, I think it will be $107..... they only charge GST. Still, I see your point. It is a fair jump.

I was wondering how long it would be before someone posted about the price hike ... I was going to when I first heard, but figured I'd better not ... I'd rather let someone else be the messenger on this one

I compared Marshes to Clublink. If HP didn't go gold (making almost all Clublink courses free for reciprocal play), and offer a reduced membership fee, I would likely have bought a Marshes membership this year.

And I'm not complaining about the price for EC as I won't have to pay it, I just saw it when I was checking what a guest would have to pay at HP, and thought it would be of interest to some.

Plus the Marshes is $85 anytime for anyone working in a KRP building, so I get the best of both worlds .

Its a shame to see it go up, but compared to other courses of that calibre, Eagle Creek was an absolute steal at 75 bucks. 100 is still reasonable compared to other courses like it.

Hey PEI, are you getting a commission from pimping Marshes and cracking on every other course people mention? I would pay the higher rate to play Eagle Creek rather than the Marshes. Even the touring pros that were here during the Eagle Creek Classic days said is was the best track they played all season, and that was from the international players. Your "championship course designed by Robert trent blah blah blah" is maybe the 5th or 6th best course around here, and way over charges on its fees.

The Marshes is an excellent course, almost always in top condition, not a top 100 course in Canada, but still a very good course. I think you may find that the prices for the Marshes will go up next year with EC becoming fully private.

I doubt the Marshes can raise their prices as they are already operating so far below capacity, although EC going to Clublink should help them. Every year the Marshes extends the hours when $85 gets you a round. I work in an office facing the course, so I get to see it everyday, and it is always surprising how few people are out playing it.

few people play the marshes as it was not designbed to be played by you "average" gplfer.
It is a very punishing course, with some serious rough, and many people just do not find it enjoyable.

I know fomr soem friends that they have played and said they would not go back just because it punished them too much for missed drives etc.
now having said that, it is a great track, but you have to know that it is kept in championship conditions.

    not for everyone,

that is why so many people play cloverdle, can't miss it there!!
