Dragonfly OPEN on Tuesday!
Just got off the phone with Dragonfly. They ARE open tomorrow. I have a tee off time at 11am and she told me that was a perfect time because a "group of ten guys from Ottawa" is coming down for 10:30.
If you guys are part of that group, see you there!!

Thats weird, I asked about t-times for tomorrow and she said just show up. We are the group of 10. I said we would be there between 10:30 and 11. I guess we'll see you there.

I played today and overall, it was a good experience - it will keep getting better in the days to come.
Tees: Soft - no hammer required to drive tees into the ground - little if any water on them at all.
Fairways: Soggy but no lakes to be found where they shouldn't be - little roll to be had on drives but we didn't lose any well-hit balls that split the fairway. Some casual water (more of the squishing out from under shoe variety) but didn't affect play.
Greens: WET. They may have been cut late last week and rolled nice today, but if there is such a thing as a lake on a green, most greens would qualify as having had lakes on them. As such, they varied from hole to hole and even shot to shot. Try smashing it through the water to get to the pin on one hole and end up 10 feet short and same shot next hole you're 15 feet long!!
Overall?
My feet were dry at the end of the game. No shoe/sock change necessary. Not like last year playing the back 9 twice at a course south of Ottawa.
It was a pleasurable experience and for it being March 27th, I'd rate it a solid 7.5 out of 10. Definitely worth the drive. With it being 11* on Thursday, I would go again if it weren't for the fact I had to take today off to play!!
Thanks to Pinshark for joining me and I hope the two groups of five in front of us from this forum enjoyed the game as well. They seemed to play well and did play fast! Good job, guys!

Yeah!!!
Seriously, if you were aiming at the HOLE when on the green, you couldn't find a dry spot to putt through on most holes. I would have placed the pins in much different spots, but that's me. About 14 of the holes were full of water to the brim.
I know that rule, but as I'm sure Pinshark will attest, unless you wanted to putt to an imaginary hole on most greens, you had no choice but to set the ball sailing!!
It didn't put a damper on the round though - hey - on the bright side, putting will only get easier as the days go by!!!

Great course conditions report after your round. Feels like I know what to expect if I were playing there tomorow
If all reports of spring conditions were like this one, it would sure be a help to all of us. Keep em coming.
ThanksI've spent most of my life golfing .... the rest I've just wasted"

Before I call DF maybe someone who played yesterday has the answer: Do they have carts out? Or do you know if they planned to have them out soon?

Just got back from Dragonfly and it is remarkable how dry it is considering all the rain a couple of days ago. One of the guys from there came by us on 16 in a cart and we talked for a few minutes and he said they would have carts out tomorrow. The paths are very muddy and soft but he said theres a good base below.
I was surprised how good most of the greens were although slow. Hey it's March golf so I'm not complaining. Not too many people up there today. I guess they all wimped out when they heard the temperature.

Got back from Dragonfly. Just want to say thanks to the two groups ahead of me that let myself as a single play through. I'm sure at least one of the groups is on this forum. Conditions were fantastic for March, pnly one green had the last bit of standing water. The rest were dry but slow. No water on the fairways either.

Green is not very dry.
Got back from Dragonfly, I felt green was very slow and the in course greens are wet and some holes are full of water( I have to putt into water hole. )
But, in the afternoon I played alone. I could see some finished but I didn't have any players 2~3 holes front & back of me. It took only 3 hours to fihish 18 holes by walk and slow play...
Just go and have fun~!
