Mapleview Spring Condition
I'm thinking about maybe coming down with a 24 hour flu bug on wednesday (march 28th) and driving down to mapleview to start off my 2007 golf season. But wondering if its worth my day off work and my drive down to Perth. Does this course winter well? or will it be a swamp next week?
- annnnnnnnnd if i decide to go i'll start a thread in 'arrange a game' if anyone would like to join me.Scott - Golf...Fail.

The opening date is tentative. It's usually suprisingly dry in the spring, and the owner told me they have no significant snow remaining as of today.

Well, should be a definate. Unless my shoulder doesn't heal. Its still rather sore, and the problem started on Sun. But once I hear from GG after he calls next week to confirm, I'll know a little more.

It's supposed to rain most of the day today. I doubt anyone would be there working this morning. Try later in the day as someone might come into get things organized.

Oh no... not Mapleview too! I was so disappointed that I lost my opening day yesterday. I got through Sunday knowing that Tuesday would be sunny and warm. Now clouds are getting into the mix and the high is down from 18 to 15... and now they're not answering the phone!?!!
We have known for a while it would rain today so I hope that what we have received so far doesn't affect tomorrow's opening date and that all will be well. I can't call so if someone gets more info, please post it here as soon as possible - I have my day off all lined up and ready to go!

How does MapleView compare to Links O Tay? If ever I drive to Perth it's normally for Links O Tay.

Mapleview just moved the opening to Wednesday at the earliest.
Perth GC and Mapleview are both good courses. Perth being 2 distinct nines, very old and new designs and maturity. Mapleview is more consistant. Both courses have some very good holes. Mapleview is more spread out, a good walk between some holes. Mapleview is usually quick to dry in the spring which makes it a very good choice early in the season. Summer conditions are comparable so it's pretty tough to say one if or the other is better. It would be more of a personal preference. I like them both.Life dinnae come wit gimmies so yuv got nae chance o' gitt'n any from me.

Played Mapleview today and they had only the back nine open so did it twice. It was very dry with only a few damp spots. They're planning on opening the front nine tomorrow and may possibly allow carts on paths only. Another thing is to bring cash as they don't have their interact up and running yet.

Played today - back 9 only and it was very dry for March! Think i only moved my ball from a soggy patch once.
Greens - very slow and bumpy but still I can't complain for March.
Try and get out before the rain comes again!Scott - Golf...Fail.

Got a chance to play today also.
Course was dry as usual, greens were cut as usual. beer was cold as usual.
As we were playing the 17th (our 8th hole) we saw and met Jay on hte machine cutting the green, and after a few words, we had the go ahead for the front nine.
You can play 18 now.I've spent most of my life golfing .... the rest I've just wasted"
