What to do with my new Scotty

So I am looking for suggestions as to what to do with my new Scotty. I have picked up a Newport 2 Studio Style and should be here in a week or so. The thing is the previous owner had removed all the paint fill and only has the red on the "newport" on the bottom.

After looking at some posts about having them redone at the studio and some people do there own custom paint fill, I thought i would see what the "Real Scotty" people think.

This should be my gamer for the year and more then likely if i do go to sell it I would have it sent off first. But it just might stick around for a while too.

Let me know what you think??

    i didnt vote becuase:

    1) i dont mind not having paint fill, its not a big deal for me its gonna fall off anyways.

    2) if no paint fill bothers you, and there is nothing else wrong with it to warrant spending the $100+ to send it to the studio then just do it yourself and pick as many colours are you want, not the 2 that the CS allows you.

    3) i would try and sell it first without sending it to the shop. no point IMO. its gonna cost you more money that youre not gonna get back when you flip it.

    4) if you didnt feel comfortable doing the paint fill yourself. not that its possible to mess that up. send it to Kevin at www.putterplating.com, and the turn around time would prolly be less than the Cameron CS. though this would take away from it being 100% Scotty Cameron

do the fill yourself if you want the paint. I wouldn't bother sending it to Scotty/Kevin. Although Kevin at Putterplating is awesome, you still have the waiting time, cost, plus the extra shipping cost because its going to the states. I know there are a lot of guys on here that have done it before, including myself and its really not hard to do at all. I can imagine there are a few guys that live in your area that would be more than happy to help you out.

Use a stick or anything small to fill in the letters. When it's dry I use steel wool and all the excess paint comes off and leaves the paint inside the lettering.
Don't know what to do if it paint gets in the mill work as I have never painted the face of a Scotty.

I did the same as Lance, Walmart, metal craft paint. Red, white and yellow ran me less than 10 bucks. Fill (I used a needle), clean with q tip and nail polish remover.

Here's what i managed on my first try. It is really easy.

I applied the paint on mine with a toothpick, then once its dry (and this is key) put some paint stripper on a Qtip and just whipe the excess off.

How bad is the paint fill on these things? I picked up a new Circa #2 and I'm hoping they aren't as bad as the Titleist irons for the amount they charge for the putter.

Is it the type of paint they use that causes the loss? I'm just wondering because I had never had an issue until I bought Titleist last season. The MB's lose paint pretty quick and the same with the CB's where the number is marked.

Game it as is. If you don't like something get it touched up end of season. Use your scotty . Sometimes I get upset with Mr. Cameron but he's the best friend yu could ever have out there on the course so make sure he comes with you. He's a great wingman at picking up women as well

Looks good. If you went with a darker red...."merlot", it'll look stunning.
