Prescott
I believe that I played Prescott on the 2nd of April last year. Pretty good.

I played my first round April 15 I think. It is worth noting that by that time conditions were actually quite good. Very little mud, no winterkill, etc.
If we have a rainy spring this year it could be completely different.

OK I realize I am not close to Ottawa. However last year my course opened on March 28. I know, I was there in the afternoon
I am hoping for the same date or earlier this year. However I know the course will be very wet, as it was wet when it closed. My opinions are my own, I do not follow others.

Jarred,
Mapleview opens early and they even cut the greens before April 1st!
I'm thinking I may head down to Firestone the April long weekend...It could be that the purpose of your life is only to serve as a warning to others.

ya, normally we go in April but this year we're going a bit later. The last two years we went late april and had some cold weather, though that's not the reason we're so late this year. More to the fact of trying to work it around everyone's work and life schedules. This was the only week we could find that worked for everyone. The other years the weather had been great when we went down. Just happy to be going actually .
I got a fever. And the only prescription is more golf equipment.

- Are your hands shaking yet?
- Are you dusting off your golf shoes to make sure they still fit?
- Are you making up excuses to take your wife/girlfriend to the Baton Rouge just so you can go nextdoor to GolfTown?
- Have you been seen in the mensroom pretending to swing a golf club in front of the mirror more than tiwce this week?
- Have you moved your clubs up from the basment into the trunk of your car?
if you have answerd yes to 2 or more of the preceding questions you may be nuts... lol.Last edited by MusicMan; 03-08-2007 at 08:51 PM.

I played golf on Feb 14th in Mexico, does that count as first round played in 2007?
Otherwise I'll be playing at MY earliest convenience

Played Pebble Beach last week......then I stepped outside and faced reality. I was still in Ottawa in the Golf-O-Max parking lot in bone chilling weather.
But it was fun to get to play with my regular foursome. And it is a nice way to get ready for the upcoming season.
Played on April 10 last year - Casselview - also warmed up for the season using the MEWS Superdome facilities in Blackburn Hamlet for almost two weeks prior to the start of the season.

C'mon Jarred, you'll be pacing the floor waiting to get out there and see how much you can "SUCK" the ball back on the greens with those new SPIN MILLS
No big deal playing forged irons early in the year. You have to remember the frost is out of the ground by then. Heck I played forged irons in December when it was -8C with the wind chill Now I have 3 sets of forged irons, I can always go play with the Wishon's and take the Cobra's out later.
You'll be out before May 1, if not you are a WUSS
PS Is there anything else I can sell you before the sale ends on Sunday ?My opinions are my own, I do not follow others.
