One Brand Obsession
Does anyone else suffer from this?
Not sure why, but when I find some equipment I like, I like to set my whole bag up with that brand. My recent Bridgestone set up is the furthest I've ever gone with the one brand set up:
Driver: Bridgestone J33R 460
Fwy Wds: Bridgestone J33 3 wd (I hope)
Bridgestone J33 5wd
Irons: Bridgestone J33 Combos
Wedges: Precept/Bridgestone Prototypes 52/60
Putters: Now this is the only non-Bstone club in my bag only because the Tourstage putters are very rare and most times expensive: Scotty Cameron Studio Stainless Laguna or Nickent Pipe (automatic from 5 ft and in)
Bag: Bridgestone grey carry bag
Accessories: 2 Bridgestone hats, 1 Bridgestone visor, Bridgestone Umbrella, 2 Bridgestone gloves, 2 Bridgestone towels, Precept/Bridgestone U-Tri Tour balls

I play what I find works best.
It could be that the purpose of your life is only to serve as a warning to others.

I see people do the one brand thing all the time, but never have I seen someone do the one brand thing with sooooo many brands in so little time. Usually if someone is doing that, they have some sort of loyalty invested in that brand.
I've always had a soft spot for Ping, and I can put together a bag with 12 Ping clubs in it (no fws), but I'll play whatever works best for me.

I would like to be all one brand but have a tough time finding one brand that has everything I want.. Now I have 9 TaylorMades and 5 non TaylorMade in the bag.. I once had an all Titleist bag. If they made a good iron I would go that route again...

Quote Taken from WebMD
"Geofferia Syndrome
The Geofferia Syndrome is a very rare ilness which causes the people that posses it to buy a single brand of golf club to match their set. The origin of this ilness can be traced back to a special Gene possesed by a select few members of the Golf Resourse forums. Though it is still a mystery as to where exactly it began.
The only known cure right now if to transfer all monarary operations for that individule to their spouce or nearest loved one."

If TaylorMade made a 50 degree wedge I could see me having an all TM bag (with exception of the putter) later this year

Interesting comment Colby, but I find most manufacturers offer a variety of equipment within any given line of clubs. So in today's world of fittings, unlimited shaft choices and lessons I can usually find something that works from pretty much any manufacturer. For me its looks first. If I like the look, I'll give it a try and go from there.

i tried to go all B'stone, but just couldn't settle on a shaft for the driver that worked as well as the other driver i had. Now i have a mess of clubs from different brands.
TM driver
B'stone 3wood
TM 5wood
Adams hybrid
B'stone J33 blades
Titleist GW and SW (Mizuno are likely in the near future)
Cameron putter
so that puts me at 4 brands, 5 brands if i go with the Mizzy wedges.

Geoff, have you put bridgestone tires on your car yet? It was harder to find the Cleveland tires I imagine...

Not that I buy a lot of clubs, but I do feel the call of the single brand. All my clubs but the putter are the same mfgr, and I'm working on the putter.

Apparently WebMD is hiring 4 year-olds to proof read their articles. You can't really blame them for missing a few spelling mistakes now and then though, as finger painting and the jungle gym have distracted the best of us from time to time.
Psst Jarred... Firefox 2.0.0.2

I used to be all 1 brand.
Titleist:
90t
904f
731pm's
Vokeys
Cameron putter
but a few things have been replaced here and there.
904F was traded out for a Cobra X Speed
I carry a Nike 2i, sometimes a TM rescue
And most recently I moved to a Ping G5.
When looking @ clubs I start w/ titleist, as I have confidence in them due to my years of using them...also, years of using them gets me comfortable w/ the looks & address. But if something comes along that can knock a titleist item out of the bag on performance, it will ... i'm not brand loyal beyond giving them 1st crack at impressing me.NCGT Ryder Cup Team Green (06,07,08)
