new posts

Is it me or is the new forum a bit hit and miss with seeing all the new posts? I am finding posts that I haven't seen and they don't always show up as new when I hit new posts. anyone else experiencing this? It seems to be since the last "upgrade".

Sometimes I get post that aren't new.. I have read them before..

I also find that recent posts can get lost 2-3 pages back - that is, I've read all the posts in there, and I would think that they should still be on the first page, but for some reason, they disappear to the back - at least until someone posts again.

I see this but only with polls, when someone votes it shows up as a new post (as it is a new post), even though they did not actually post a reply.

Otherwise it seems to work fine for me with Firefox.

Do you guys know how to get new posts, but just from the sections that interest you?

This will get all new posts, but exclude certain ones, i.e. If I don't want to see what is for sale in the left handed section I can exclude it using this (I know to put 10 there by moving my mouse over the "Left Hand Clubs" link, and it says f=10:

You can customize this and then just save it as a bookmark.

Ok, I do get those, but they are still "new" as I never read them, plus it has left them in their own area so I can "not read them again".

I prefer this to it marking everything read when I leave.

It's easy. Place both hands on the edge of the desk in front of you Push forwards so that your chair moves away from the desk. Put your feet firmly on the floor and straighten your knees. This will have the result of putting space between your butt and the chair. Hopefully you are not afraid of heights because your computer keyboard and mouse cannot be reached from this angle unless your arms are abnormally long. Turn 90 degrees and take a couple of steps forward. Turn another 90 degrees in the same direction and walk away from the computer. Don't worry, it will not miss you.

Ok. I'm confused. I'll admit it doesn't take much but if that was a New Post, should it not appear at the top of the list?

It was "new" since you have not read it or "Marked as read"
However, the system knows how long you've been browsing and determines that you likely are not interested since youve been on for x minutes without looking at it so it puts it in the lower section.

If you want to clear the list use Quick Links / Mark Forums Read

It also sees that you left without reading it and have returned

I stopped using the "New Posts" a while ago.

Now I just use the "Quick Links" ---> "Today's Posts"

This gives me what I want.
