    Hazard question

I would like to know what the ruling is if there is an island green and a gravel path going from the cart path to the area of the green and this path is inside the lateral hazard markings and a ball comes to rest in this area do you have to play the ball as if it's in the hazard or is there an exception to the hazard rule????? Also should the hazard be marked to exclude this bridge or path???

    Thanks for a reply

If the path is inside the hazard, then you would have to play the ball as in the hazard. There is no relief from an immovable obstruction in a hazard.

It is up to the Committee ( the people in charge of the course or competition) to define the margins of hazards, so not all island greens are marked the same.

Generally speaking, the path would be excluded from the hazard as at TPC Sawgrass.
