Easy Golfomax Courses
Playing Golf-O-Max later today. Anyone know any easy courses? By easy I mean wide open tee shots. I spray them but still want to have fun so any courses that I can mess my tee shot and still have a shot at the hole would be appreciated.

The easy ones have always been Barton Creek and Banff Springs. Ask the guys there, they will help you out as it may be different with the newer software.

Troon North. Lots of desert, but no OB, well I think no OB, missed a few fairways, landed in the desert, but still in play.

Covered Bridge is very nice with some room to miss, and greens that are fairly easy with not too much undulation which can be a big plus on a sim.
Sea Island is a nice course too with some target fairways but it won't eat you alive.Life dinnae come wit gimmies so yuv got nae chance o' gitt'n any from me.

I played Pebble Beach... It's wide open but it has OB.
I have a question. If I got 89 there, I could get same score in real courses around Ottawa?

There are times i miss the old machines. It was good for the ego to shoot -8, hahahaha!

I feel that gimmies (in real golf) should only be used in match play, and I for one will only give puts when they are under a foot, or I am conceding the hole. I play a lot of golf with a buddy who likes to "be a gentleman" and gives way too many puts for ties. It can make being his partner a test of tongue bitting.

I know what ya mean Dan. I used to be in a regular 4some that played together about 3 or 4 times a week. We played each game for a few shekles. My playing partner would always give them 3 and 4 footers! It would drive me nuts, especially one of the 2 couldn't putt to save his life! When I would give my partner the evil eye, he would just say what to hell, they will return the favor.... they never did cause they weren't STUPID! They sure ate alot of chicken wings and drank a lot of beer at my expense!
I'm a believer that in match play, you can give a putt as long as it is reasonable.... in stroke play.... the hole ain't over till I hear the ball hitting the bottom of the cup! Sorry, handicaps are involved and I have seen scratch players and Pros miss puts from a foot.
Oh and by the way, in stroke play I have never accepted a gimmie if I was entering the game into the handicap system.
