Weather
I just checked the long term forecast and in 1 weeks time the cold below normal spell should leave us and above normal temperatures will be here. The forecast is for temps to be above 0° by the 21st of Feb and getting significantly higher by the end of the month and even some rain to help the snow melt!! Let's keep our fingers crossed and perhaps our next local game will be in March.

No we don't. I think we have maybe 6" on the ground. I have never seen such a year and I have lived here 35 years. Some years we have had it up so high we had to shovel off the tops of the snowbanks onto our front yards so we could have somewhere to put the new snow. This year, not so much

You guys kill me......how about we have winter now!! when it is winter and then we may actually get a spring this year and not snow in May!
I am an optimistic realist!!!

nobody tell old man winter that he forgot Ottawa...I'm kinda liking not having to do the shoveling this year.
Then again, I just found out we're getting a good 'ol snow storm tomorrow night, so that won't last for long...lol
Given the temperatures that I've seen being forcasted, even that amount of snow won't last long.
C'mon SPRING

Forgive me if this is just plain wrong, or just plain mean, but won't such a shortage of snow play havoc with the golf courses? Don't they rely on the melting snow to help them get in shape quickly? It seems like it could be a long, brown spring if you don't get some decent winter weather in the next month or so.

I think no snow is a problem when it is melting and freezing during the winter but we have had a nice coating through all the cold stuff. I may be wrong as well though lol.

When I lived in Ottawa, it was brutal. March was the worst, half the time, brutal blinding snowstorms. Then hot humid summers.
I miss Ottawa lived there from 65-92, but I do not miss the weather!Membership- GlenCairn Golf Club

P.E.I ,
Yes I do live in Mississauga, here is a something : 2006 I played every month of the year Jan- through December- Did you in Ottawa?
Our season starts on a regular year March 22 or so- and runs right to the end of November. Thats got to be a couple of months longer than Ottawa.
Not to argue, I love a lot of things about Ottawa, but please do not tell me the weather there is better than Toronto. I would know, I've spent each half of my life in both Cities.

I'll take a little extra cold in the winter over the smog of death in the summer

Never noticed the Smog, other then to see it occasionally.
Went to NYC once, and thought I was breathing in FUMES.

And in the southern states they wear jackets in the summer at 35 degrees celcius! They don't notice the heat.

Yeah, been to Toronto many times and really never noticed the smog either......
First thing tomorrow morning I am going to call up that travel agent of mine and cancel my March golf trip to Myrtle Beach. Why should I spend all that $ when I can golf in sunny warm Mississauga.............

Hee, hee... Actually dont come to Mississauga there are hardly any golf courses here. You will have to go further West to Oakville but book April 1 then your safe, so long as flights can get out of Ottawa weather dependant.
