Emery Suspended 3 games- Why is the NHL so Inconsisent with suspensions?

yes it was wrong what Emery did and yes it warrents a suspention...but I just dont see the difference between that and the hit Schafer took from behind in the third...the intent to injure was the same...stop calling all the hooks and hold and call actual penalties...JMO

The unfortunate byproduct of all this goalie business is that eventually either a goaltender, or a skater is going to suffer a career ending injury, or someone will get intentionally butchered, all at the expense of creating more offensive chances (and that is why you won't see a change in the instigator rule).

Emery was probably justified in his frustration. Sadly he got 3 games because he took it out on the only guy who had the misfortune to run in to him by accident.

My prediction is that Emery will eventually beat the crap of somebody in a fight, and that will be the end of HIS problem with people running him.

Hey, if Emery wants to drop the stick, blocker and glove and pummel a forward, all power to him. He'll get 2 for instigating, 5 for fighting, and peace of mind in the crease for a couple of games.
Just as an afterthought, isn't it nice to see Gerber with a SO. Emery will be well rested for the stretch run. Wish I could say the same for the Habs.
