removing paint fill...
so i want to remove the ugly white and red paint fill on my callaway xtour vintage wedge...
i took an old wedge to try various techniques...ive tried
- HeatGun (some results, but messy)
- Blow tortch (messy)
- SulfuricAcid (killed the finish)
i havent tried pollystripper cuz im afraid of it wrecking the finish like the acid did...
any home remedy for this? baking soda and viniger? any ideas?

Are you repainting it with your own colour scheme, or just leaving it blank?

Did you have to explain to your dad why you were buying nail polish remover?

Just as an FYI, the guy version of nail polish remover is called "acetone".
You can buy it in 1 quart tins at the Golfworks or Canadian Tire and not have to worry about being called girly names.

sorry to resurrect this thread...but was trying to remove the paintfill from my mizuno irons and couldnt get the paint to come off with nail polish remover and all. That is what seems to work...maybe only certian kinds, because this one has acetone in it, which I assume is the main ingredient in getting the paint to come off. Anyways, I tried using a wood tooth pick and nail polish remover and no luck...maybe I'm just not patient enough. Suggestions?

Poly-Strippa. Pour it into the letters. Don't let it drip on the ferule or any other plastic. Let it sit for 20 min. Scrub it with a brush, but not a plastic or wire brush. I use a straw fingernail brush. Repeat if nessesary. It never takes more than 2 applications to completely remove all paint. Rinse well when done, to get any residue off.
Life dinnae come wit gimmies so yuv got nae chance o' gitt'n any from me.

I am finishing my irons tonight and hade a problem with nail polish remover as well so bought some polystripper and it worked much better but still took a couple applications to get it all out. the painting process was much easier.
