Very cool, that looks like a hybrid tour head. Just as he was introducing the CT stamp, but still some tour dots and classic "Tour" stamping as well. Black pearl is one of my favourite finishes too. I haven't seen many older tour putters in black pearl, this would be a sweet pick up.

Very nice.
Didn't the circle T superceed the dot? Why would it be marked with both?Life dinnae come wit gimmies so yuv got nae chance o' gitt'n any from me.

My guess is this putter was made during the transition from the dot to the CT.. you do see some putters with both markings.. Eventually they did away with the dot.

That's what I figured. So was the dual markings period short enough that they are rare?

I am not 100% sure on that.. I haven't personally seen a whole lot with both though.
My guess is about a years worth.. Most putters I have seen marked like that are either newports, newport 2s, or studio designs..
Every CT Studio Design I have seen has been stamped like that.. so prob any putters made around 2000 ??Proud Member BigJohnnys Ryder Cup Team '08

Delima
The guy selling it didn't have a copy of the COA so there was no way I had proof that it was the real mccoy. Sure he gave me a number but there was no proof the two were the same.
I asked him for it but he said he lost it..hmmmm
What would you do?Some people are like Slinkies... they're really good for nothing, ... but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs...

he'll have to send it back in to the studio IMO.
That's too much $$ to put down taking someone's word.NCGT Ryder Cup Team Green (06,07,08)

for some reason my PMs arnt sending
i would tell him once he gets the COA the deal is done... otherwise there is no proff and the putter could be a copy of the one on the site... if he is claiming he has a COA then there is a problem, tell him to find it or call the shop and get a new one..
my 2 cents worth

I agree with Nate, Lance and Jarred. No COA, no deal. A lot of Cabbage to send if it is a fake.

He's getting another COA from Craig at "the shop" and will send it to me.
Hypothetically speaking what's stopping someone from keying in a registry number and replicating the same putter. I'm not suggesting he would do this or this is what was done, but my point is that it can be done. Without that piece of paper I would never feel comfortable sending the money to a stranger on his word, especially these days. Some people are like Slinkies... they're really good for nothing, ... but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs...

well you could use PayPal and cancel payment if its not as descibed cant you? and yeah good point about faking the COA without sending the putter back... i dont quite know what to say about this

i dont know where i stand on this... i would prolly side with lance unless u call the shop and speak with this guy personally and make sure all the info adds up
doesnt make sense to have a "really rare" tour putter and not have the COA.. fiiiiiishyLast edited by MusicMan; 02-01-2007 at 12:14 PM.

Update
I called the SC studio and spoke with Sarah. She told me in order to get a COA you'd have to send the putter into them. I told them what the seller told me, that Craig was going to send him another copy. She told me that there is no Craig that works there. They're a small group and she knows all of them. She went on to tell me that there is only one copy of the COA ever issued. If you lost it or otherwise the only way to get another is to send the putter back in for authenticity validation.
I'll keep you posted..Some people are like Slinkies... they're really good for nothing, ... but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs...
