The latest issue of Golf World magazine contains the following statement to the RCGA's board of governors is attributed to Ty Votaw, the tour's executive VP, which comment was made in response to the RCGA's complaint regarding the new date for our Open:

"It's not less than ideal, it's not lousy and it's not between a rock and a hard place ... You should be proud that you are within that group and not bemoaning that you're in that group."

In plain English this is the equivalent of: "Stop *ing and be thankful for the little favour we bestowed on you and your second rate tournament." The level of arrogance that this attitude displays is frankly astounding. I wonder if the RCGA ever considered striking up an association with the European Tour and making our Open an event on their Tour?

All of this is enough to make one furious. And by the way, we aren't the only ones who were wrongly and arbitrarily done by. Jack Vickers, the force behind The International appears to have been treated in a similarly dismissive fashion. He isn't amused either.
