Vey little change this winter. Had bought Ping i3+ irons in the fall, but they ended up not being able to beat the Maltby M-05s out of the bag so the Pings are gone. The only thing that will be new will be SMT Durometer wedges. But instead of 50, 55, and 60* I am only going with 59* and 53* and no longer have the "gap" wedge (PW is 47*). I found the 3 wedges plus the PW a bit of overkill. This frees up a spot in the bag so now the 2i hybrid or 7 wood gets back in the bag. Otherwise the bag remains the same as last year:

    - Ashton MS-5 HW 10.5* with SKFiber Rev Lite I stiff at 44.25"
    - Ashton X-1 3 wood (16*) with SKFiber TT80 stiff at 43.5"
    - Ashton X-1 7 wood with SKFiber TT80 stiff or Wishon 321LI 2 iron hybrid (depends on course and/or wind)
    - Wishon 321LI 3 iron hybrid
    - Maltby M-05 4-PW in Rifle 5.0s
    - SMT Durometer 53* and 50* in SKFiber TT90, graphite for feel (these are the only new clubs)
    - Odyssey DFX blade 2 ball (reshafted back up to 35" for new Stan Utley stroke)
    I don't have an ulcer - I am just a carrier.

byerxa, how do you find that shaft in your driver? I only ask because Saint just put one in mine. Would appreciate some feedback. Thanks.

Are some of you guys millionaires or something? If I changed my clubs that much, my wife would ask me to take a long walk off a short pier.

I spend a few bucks every year on my clubs, but wow, I'm impressed at some of these collections.

Keep up the good work. Leaves with some faith that not all is wrong with the world.

They are nice shafts, and by far one of the best shafts for money. I actually have a Rev Lite II in another MS-5 HW 10.5*. Since the Rev II is a "stouter", lower trajectory shaft I put in a R tipped slightly towards firm. I actually like it a bit better - feels slightly smoother because of the R flex but hangs in there like a stiff Rev I. I highly recommend the Rev II to people who have higher swing speeds, but the Rev I is excellent as well. The TT80 in fairway woods is the bargain of the century! $20 shaft and is as good as any I've tried in my fairway woods!

FYI my driver SS is ~100mph, smooth tempo which translates into ~240yd carry on a well hit ball.

SKFibers are a club makers dream as they are very consistent (and a great value). My experience has shown me that shafts that have very little "spine" or variation around its axis simply feel or perform better, even if you spine align and FLO. Since SKFibers have little spine they tend to be good across the board.,

    Total change

For the coming season, every club in my bag will be new:

Putter: Tommy Armour EFT 4, classic blade style, like Wilson 8802

Driver: Maltby Logic Lady, 12 degree, 280cc, stainless steel

    3W: Distance Master, 15 degree, 160cc

    5W: Distance Master, 19 degree, 150cc

    7W: Distance Master, 23 degree, 140cc

5iron-9iron, PW, AW, SW: Distance Master Pro Launch

My woods are shafted with Dynamic steel shafts

My irons are shafted with FST Pro Black shafts

I have reduced my flex from 7.0 to 5.0 in the irons, and from X to R in my woods.

I have changed only a couple of things over the winter. I recently purchased a R5 TP Tour with Diamana Redboard as well as i decided to change from the B'stone J33 combos, to the J33 blades. The only other change that might happen is getting a new 52* wedge, my titleist is a few years old.

Thanks for the feedback. My SS is a little higher than yours. But I got a chance to try out the J33P/ SK Fiber Rev I combo Sat at GOM. Love the feeling of it. I can feel the shaft "moving" (I won't use load because around here that just isn't the right description) throughtout the swing. Can't wait to try it outside.

How much has the shaft been tipped? I find an untipped S perfect for me, so I suspect it may not hold up to your swing as well. Like I said, the Rev Lite II is an even better shaft IMO and would probably suit you better.

Yep, for ~$50-60 a pop these are very tough to beat.

Don't think it was tipped. I got it from The Saint. And he never mentioned if any tipping was done.

Saint, you reading this? Was my shaft tipped?

Sold my first set of Irons to a co-worker, Wilson Fire Sticks mid size system 45 and have replaced them with King Cobra FP Irons. Also sold my Cleveland 588 Wedges and Wilson df6 Hybrid to Play It Again Sports to help play for my new irons above. Looking at replaceing them with Nike Tiger Woods Forged Wedges and a hybrid from either Callaway or Cobra.

I haven't done hardly anything since the last time I played, just messing around with my FWs as usual. Changed my 5 wood to a Cally BB04 and put a TM Rescue Mid 22* in instead of my 3i. Lot of back up clubs coming and going (cottage set, putter fetish, etc) but the bag remains mostly the same.

Got a used hawkeye 5 wood recently, shaft is 2 inches longer than my other 5 wood and probably stronger loft. I seem to be hitting it around 220 instead of 207 with my old one. Woo Woo
