Restaurant in the market
Looking for some suggestions for a good restaurant in the market. By good I mean I am taking some business associates out and want something that is nice, not too pretentious, but has good food, good service and good atmosphere. I know the usual places but I don't eat out much so I'm looking for some suggestions. Something along the lines of an Empire Grill or Social. Price is not too much of a concern but I'm not simply looking for the most expensive.
I got a fever. And the only prescription is more golf equipment.

I have never had a bad meal at Vittoria Trattoria. Great wine list too.

or there is "the Sterling" just on the quebec side... prolly one of the nicest restaurants around the city, parents took me there for my 20th bday, they show you the raw steak before they cook it to make sure it meets your satisfaction... or there is Hy's downtown as well i think on albert street, went there for my 21st bday last week... also very classy both those places are around $40 a steak and they have $5000 bottles of wine and champaign 2 of the classiest restaurants in ottawa

Friday's Roast Beef House - 150 Elgin, across from NAC and Court House. Good food, but pricy, maybe $120 with tip, very upscale, linen, silverware, crystal etc. Piano parlour upstairs. Shirt & tie crowd, but not stuffy, won't throw you out for wearing jeans but you'd feel out of place, dress-up casual would be fine, reservations recommended.

Try Kinki. It's asian/fusion (also close to Bare Fax).

I'll second this recommendation. They are just around the corner from my place and it's a very nice atmosphere. I'm pretty sure it's family owned/operated and the food has always been great.
As an indication of the authenticity of the food, every time we've been there always seems to be a lot of Portugese and Spanish being spoken at the various tables.
