What is a good set of fogred heads?
I'm going to copy dan again in the hopes of beating him next year. I'm looking for a set of fogred heads. I just want the heads, preferably something a year old so I can find them on ebay. Any suggestions? I don't work the ball, I just want to hit it straight and not shank it. Forgiving forged irons

Are you looking for components, Depe? Or can they be OEM?

Take a look at my rafter sale.. don't have any fogred (hard to find)...but everything I do have is forged... .. and top of the line.
Some people are like Slinkies... they're really good for nothing, ... but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs...

Raven VCT nearnet forged
$160 for 8 heads. Very forgiving yet not too big and easily bendable for loft and lie.Last edited by Chieflongtee; 01-13-2007 at 05:01 PM.

I think Dan has the KZG Evolutions doesn't he? I have most of a set too now, buying them bit by bit. I love these clubs and find them no harder to hit than my X18s.

I am a self proclaimed forged iron addict..both blades and cavity back...I presently have at least 8 sets ( recently sold my GS Professional Grinds, Wishon 550c and Maltby M05's.) and have pretty much hit every component there is....not all the OEM's but most of the OEM blades
while I do not know your game the two most forgiving forged cb heads to buy as a component are without question
Wishon 560 mc ( a bit pricey but worth every penny)
Maltby M05 ( minimal and constant offset)
In OEM it is hard to beat the MX 23....but the 560 are better looking and more playable IMO
z101 are great irons...I have a set as well but not as easy to hit as the two above and their std lies are a bit upright compared to most.
most important thing though is get fit properly for whatever you get..
good luck !!

My backup set are the original Golfsmith Tour Cavity Forged.
They've got about five seasons on them so that have some wear but they'd be a good introduction to forged. Currently shafted with TFR 5.5s but I could pull the shafts if you're interested in heads only.

If I wasn't getting these though I would look for MX23s. Now the MX25s are out the 23s are a really good deal, and I like them better than the 25s.

"RICHARD" here is a set of forged irons right here, ready to go. I can see Dan going down if you stick these in your golf bag!

Mind you, I can see Dan going down the 16th fairway 3 up
JK Buddy, you should check into those Bridgestones. Or contact me, I can set you up with some forged irons. My opinions are my own, I do not follow others.

Forged Irons
Forged Irons
Adams has introduced an new set of forged cavity back irons that will be available this spring. They have an absolutely incredible feet to them. Second best sensation in life (some would say first).
These clubs will be selling for $999 and may be worth looking at

I play with a set of Cleveland TA-1's - I love these clubs - the way they look at address, the way they feel, but mostly the the way they feel while being swung. Blades do make you bettor! Next I want to try the CG1's - have to wait untill someone buys them and lets them go cheap cause they can't swing 'em!
