    Clear Coat,

Hey guys and girls, anyone know if its possible to refinish the clear coat layer on new clubs. Over Christmas I got a sweet G5 over ebay and there are no nicks or scratches on the club There is however other the some serious wear on the clear coat on the toe of the club its the only thing keeping it from being brand new, not a major deal just curious if theres a remedy for it?

You can try to polish the dull spot with an automotive polish that is used to buff up clear coat. Where I work (Ford assembly plant) we sand painted units with 1800 wet sand paper and then polish the spots up that were sanded. I can find out the exact name of the polish for you when I return to work next week.

If that does not work, you can buy a good air dry automotive clear coat. Mask off the face, hosel and sole of the club and reclear the entire head. You can try just clear coating the dull area, however it is damn hard to blend clear coated areas together. Again we do it at work when doing spot repairs, but we also use a blending spray to do the blends.

PM me, and I will get in touch with you about the polish we use.

I use scratch -x or scratch out for swirls and always apply 3 coats of Liquid Glass clearcost to every head that I build or repair...

the LG is expensive but outstanding....

Van and Truck world carries it....about $45 for a litre which will last about 50 years
