Instructor
Once again, golf is in the air and I sense an urgency for some lessons. I have tried several instructors. Some with and some without success.
I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good instructor that they have personally used and indicate why they were considered good.

I highly recommend Dave Kalil. You might recognize his name as he is also known as the Piano Man around Ottawa.
I've taken lessons from Dave for several years - usually one or two a year to fix or tweak certain things. He is very easy going and a good communicator. He has a good eye for the golf swing, what is going wrong, and how to fix it. I have referred at least half a dozen friends to him and all have experienced positvie results.
He is especially strong with short game instruction (and having played with him, he is also very, very good with his own short game!)
The last couple of years he was at Kanata Golf and Contry Club and before that he was at Kevin Haime's for several years. I assume he's back at Kanata this year but I've not heard.

Kevin Haime
My co-worker went from mid 90's to mid 80's after an all day group lesson with Kevin. Three years ago cost about $150.

I have worked with both Steve Hall and Ron Langevin at Raceview/Falcon Ridge and they have both been excellent. Nice practice facility there as well.

I'll put in a plug for Colin Orr of Mountain Creek and Joe Dubinski at OAC. They both teach at the OAC in the winter and are super guys that communicate well.
