How is it any different than buying a Scotty for that much? If your going to keep it and game it then i see no difference whatsoever.

a $900 scotty that your gonna use 30+ times a game, vs. a driver your gonna use 7 times a game. and a scotty that will never get outdated, where as the way drivers are changing they have the same life span of a computer at 6 months...

Can someone explain to me the difference between a TP model (i see a few of these for sale in the driver section) and reg. non TP.I am talking about the Taylor Made models. Is it the composition of the head the loft or what exactly makes it a TP model.
Thanks

Marcos, other than supposed "square face angles" and better stock shaft offerings, from what I've read there really is no difference between the TP and non-TP models of drivers. You do get more weights to offer more combinations, but basically TM slapped a TP (Tour Preferred) logo on some clubs and told people they are getting a club preferred by tour players.

What Geoff said, square face angeles, an upgraded shaft, fancy magnetic headcover, more weight options, and the TP flag on the toe. AFAIK there is no difference in the material make-up (same titanium or steel) is used for both clubheads. I suppose the TP would get more accurate lofts as well.

Probably only on a real "Tour" TM club would the lofts be more accurate. But you never know. Don't know if anyone has gone into GT to see one of these Superquads, but they're supposed to be 1* open, but unless my eyes deceive me, the one I held in my hands looked to be severely closed faced.

I went to GolfTown to check them out as well and I agree, the one I held sure looked like the face was closed. Maybe it is the paint scheme that creates an optical illusion of some sort but it did look closed to me.
I still might get one though to check it out. Lost out on the one on golfwrx yesterday by about 30 minutes, can't win them all.

Thanks Geoff, was wondering what all the hype was about.

Now don't get me wrong, I find TM drivers to perform well. I just don't see the "hype" about TP products. If I found a good deal, I'd take either TP or non-TP.

Looks like there will be both a regular and TP version of the superquad. Both available in the black color, they are available for pre-order at the golf warehouse and golfsmith.

Here is a link that shows the new SuperQuad and also the new Burner driver. Much to the dismay of some that purchased the limited edition SuperQuad, the retail versions (regular and TP) will also be all black. Looks like Feb 23rd is the available date.
