    Goal for next season

My best round in Canada has been 90 from the blue tees at Maple Ridge: par 72, 6204 yards, rating 68.8/slope 115.

My goal for next season is to play at least ten 18-hole rounds, and to shoot substantially lower than 90.

I have decided to putt left hand low, with the arc style advocated by Stan Utley. I will practice a lot putting on the carpet indoors all winter, starting tonight.

Play 60+ rounds, drop my putts per round avg. by 1-2, drop my scoring average another 6-8 strokes (a bit of a stretch, but what the hell...) and play consistently in the high 80's. Doing this by going to golf school (video, coaching and lots of swings), wearing out the putting carpet in the basement; reading both Utley AND Pelz and hopefully picking some good tips and advice from the "pros" on this forum.

    I only have two goals.

    1) Hopefully get to play more than 5 times (toddler + an infant = almost no golf for daddy).

    2) Beat my personal best.
    Back at it.

Suggest that you play your five rounds at Manderley during July and August and you'll have a shot at #2

Seriously, it's a bit early but get your kids involved and you'll get to spend some good quality time with them, teach them some valuable life lessons, and bonus, you'll get out more.

stay out west, get a job at a golf course, and spend every minute that I'm not working out on the course. Scratch golf can't be too far away.

    Golf

Well, my goals are simple, get my HC below 10, probaly by improving my putting and approach shots. Visit the Dome once a week to keep the swing loose for when I head to Pinehurst in March. Try to shoot below 100 at No.2 (fat chance)

I am abidextrous, I once golfed right-handed and now I shoot left-handed just as badly!

For #2 - I was thinking of going to one of the courses with a lower rating, like riverbend.

You are right. I should spend quality time with the kids ... ... does anybody know where I can get two of those cool chairs from "A Clockwork Orange" and 100 hours of Tiger video.
    Back at it.

    • Return to (and hold on to) a 12 handicap factor.
This year I started at 17 and the goal was to hold 15. I hit 12.7 and ended at 14
    • Make the intersectional team for the second time
      I made it this year
    • Make at leat 3 points in my intersectional matches
Made 1 in my rookie year
    • 100+ rounds
      About 115 in 2006
    • Explain (again) to Richard how steady play trumps trying to be a hero.

#1 - Reutrn my index to where it once was! And maybe even go further than that.

working at the course last season cost me big time. I need to get back about 8 strokes to be where i finished 2 years ago, and anything more than that would be a great bonus.

I've just got to get out and play.

-Get my Level 2 Rules of Golf certification - if the RCGA would get off their butts and finish the Level 2 CD-ROM, as promised.

    -Play golf better
    -Win every tournament entered

    -Break 20:00 in a 5 km race.

-Play a round of golf running, and breaking 80.

***More important than the goals is the process, as achieving the goals is incidental to what is done to improve.

Twenty minute five k now that would be impressive. My best time is just over 21:30 BC and i nearly died when i finished!!

My goals are to keep the handicap below a four and to shoot at least one round under par!

    Two goals.

    1. Record an ace. Came very close several times this year.
    2. Get handicap under 5. Stretch goal to keep it there the whole year.

    MY 2007 Goals

#1 Retire at age 51. This could be a possibility, I will know for sure on Jan.10/07

#2 If I retire play 200 rounds of golf. If I do not retire then knock that down to 150 rounds.

#3 Another ace to add to my total of 3.

#4 A Double Eagle. Much harder than an Ace when you think about it. Usually a longer shot.

#5 Lose another 20 lbs (OK I will settle for 15)

#6 Live through the entire year without another heart attack.
(Ya that is a good idea right? Especially if I retire)

#7 Play golf with friends and have lots of laughs along the way while kicking their a**es.

#8 Go up to Ottawa and play a round of golf with some of the boys, and girls from this forum.

#9 Shoot one round under par, not just the front 9, or the back 9, the entire 18 holes this time!

#10 LAST BUT MOST IMPORTANT: Enjoy life with my family
My opinions are my own, I do not follow others.

Be sure to play in the summer time then, I'm sure most days its in the 80s, sometimes the 90s and on really hot days probably the 100s.

I don't care what happens to my own golf game. My only goal for the year is to win the Ryder Cup style event versus TGN and LG.

    GO OTTAWA GOLF!!!!!
