Old school lofted 6i, not too hard. 7i tops out pushing 165 when I'm hitting them solid. 170 is a stretch, I'd have to be in the zone and have a good reason. Of course I'm pretty good at justifying any retarded hero club selection once I set foot on the course lol.

the way im hitting right now under those conditions would be an 8 iron. Him hitting the ball so square right now, my best round this was 3 weeks ago at Outaouais on a clear hot sunny day my pw was flying 160yds took a few holes to adjust.

Does it really matter what club you use as long as it gets there? I played with a guy on Monday who used his 5 wood for most of his approach shots 130, 150, 160 yds, didn't matter and he was hitting the green for the most part.

Very smooth easy 7 iron.....If only I could tell myself that on the course instead of pulling out an 8 iron. LOL.

I'll oust myself as the 8 iron dude!! 7 would be too much for me from that distance and i'd rather take a good swing than try to float something in there. Chalk the distance up to being six foot five 220.
