As good as VJ is, I cannot understand how any golfer can hit the ball well, with the right hand almost completely OFF the club at impact.

Although their swings are completely different, Freddy Couples has a habit of the right hand coming off as well. I wonder if it is because they are releasing so hard that they almost have to let go to compensate, i.e., an anti-left move? Fred definitely flips hard because of his swing, but Vijay really comes in from the inside so I am not sure what he is doing. But as you said, you can't knock the results.

Got to wonder if such an active "release" is one of the reasons why his putting is suspect? I wonder if the habit creeps into his putting, even if it is almost imperceptible? In 05 Vijay hit the ball as well as anyone but his putting was off. He had a ludicrous GIR ratio at the US Open but could not sink a thing. In 04 he could. Now father time and Tiger's renewed dominance are working against him.
