Chat Room
C'mon people, let's make use of the Ottawa Chat Room that Dan has set up for us.
When you log into this forum why not open up another browser window and log into the chat room?
I have used it in the past and had a lot of laughs in there. It's there, doesn't cost you a dime to use and it is fun.
Golf season is over, long winter nights are setting in. Let's get together and shoot the BS in the Chat Room!
In case you forgot. here is the link. CYA THERE!

I often open up a second window for the chatroom. Unfortunately no one is ever there or comes in...
So most of the time I go into chat on Golf Equipment Afficionados where the chatroom is often well populated

Why, because I golfed on December 4th and you didn't? Hey remember the greens were froze solid. It is not like I was down in SC playing golf today
I notice that when you log into the forum now it does not tell you if anyone is in the chat room. Or I am missing that little section? It used to be on the bottom of the opening page, I don't see it now.My opinions are my own, I do not follow others.

It seems to be 10 am from last month's stats.
I can see it now, arrive at work, get coffee, read forums, start chatting, oops, lunch time!
I wonder what damage this forum does to productivity?
Here's the forum traffic stats for the last month, by hour of the day.Life dinnae come wit gimmies so yuv got nae chance o' gitt'n any from me.

What about having scheduled chat sessions, this way we can plan to be on at the same time. Either once, twice or more a week. Eg. Tues and Thurs evenings at 8pm. Just a thought...

LMAO! I just clicked on "CHAT" by accident and I said to myself no one will ever go there except guys like Golfbum. Then lo and behold I find a post from you talking about the chat board. Too funny! I"ll have to check it out "Rick's Room"

Dan
I notice that certain topics get a lot of response. You could always ask people like BC MIST, Chieflongtee, The Saint, Covanant etc etc to have one hour chat sessions on topics of their respective 'specialties'. Tpoics like frequency matching, how to regrip, the differences in shaft technologies, the art of the swing, repainting a driver head, how to rate used clubs, what to look for when buying used club and I am sure there are a multitude of other topics. Just post a schedule of topics and who will be holding court at what time and which days and let the rest take care of itself.
You could even have Richard hold a one hour session for new members on the ins and outs of the forum

Well Mr. G.... in fairness to this simple minded wannabe golfer, I thought of you but realized that a man of your vast experience, your tremendously busy social calendar, the demand of being a Moderator on this fine forum on your time, the move to you new home, the extensive search for your lost swing, the hugh number of PM's you have to respond to, all the garbage posts you have to sift through (do you feel the smoke being blown up your ass yet?)
Bottom line, your already a Mod and you can schedule yourself to give us a sermon anytime you damned well please and I am somewhat disappointed in you for not having done so yet!Proud member of the 2009 OG/TGN Ryder Cup Champions

I rather like the idea of scheduled times for particular issues or subjects. It could be a lot of fun. More than that, at some point, if there aren't more than 6 of us on at any given time, we could easily slide over to Skype and have a real conversation. No need to peck away, one finger at a time.
