    Buy the darn demo.

If by any chance you attend a demo day and if you happen to hit one club really well BUY the demo. Same thing with a buddy's club. Chances are that if you order one just like it it won't play and feel just like it. Just my 0.02 cents worth.

Even the guys who work at the OEM companies will say the same thing. They are working hard to attempt to replicate a club based on specs, but there are too many variations in the parts. When a pro goes through club selection, they make up a bunch of clubs to their specs then goes through a "Gong Show" to pick the few he wants to keep. It is also why once a pro (and most good golfers) settles on a set they are not too willing to give them up. Cripes, Furyk still uses the "old" ProForce Gold shaft in his driver...

    great advice Chief....

shafts are not aligned for spine or flo, only for graphics....

shaft flexes on these stock , cheaper OEM shafts can vary as much as 2 full flexes but still say the same on the label.....the flex designation on a shaft means absolutely nothing,,,,that is why some of the better companies are now adding profile and frequency data

I have measured big name OEM heads to be as much as 3* out in loft...add to that variances in face angle and it is next to impossible to have pick two clubs that are the same...( components can similarly be out but most of the time you will be able to get these hand selected or measured)

the only thing you can count on is the same swing weight and total length

if you demo a club and like it...mark it some how so if you go back you can get the same one...otherwise ask them to measure the actual loft, face angle and do a butt frequency measurement ( even with the grip on) ...at least you will be able to go back and have them measure out another club that is hopefully the same....

they do not however align shafts for flo or spine but for graphics alignment so...these variances will always be there.

with irons..always have them measuer each club for loft and lie and have them write it down, compare it to what is supposed to be and have them adjust it...free...also get a butt frequency done...even with a grip on you can see if a club is way out and stiffer or softer than the rest of the set...again, clubs are assembled for length and swing weight so flexes can vary alot across a set..

oh and have this done while you are there...GT has a club repair area and they should be able to do it while you wait
