so i had to share this. i live in Detriot. and yestrday when the Playstation 3s went on sale people were rioting downtown to get a unit, car windows were being broken i think the doors at one of the best buys downtown got smashed from people trying to get in. something like 30 people got mugged outside bestbuys walking to their cars with their newly bought PS3s. saw it on the news this morning, can you believe this! and what a coincidence that this morning a whooooole bunch of PS3 were up on ebay with a starting price of $1500! can you believe this! i dont know but i doubt that people were getting mugged for their PS3s in ottawa anyways thats my usless sharing for today, gotta start paying attention to this lecture

Yeah crazy.. a buddy went to Walmart in Cornwall at 4 a.m was the first in line and grabbed 2.. Flip on and keep one. End of the day he gets his for free after he sells the other for 1500.. I shoulda went.. Coulda bought on and sold it for a SC or something else.. doh

A Bad classic case of supply and demand. I too can't understand all the hoopla over these games.

It's not so much about getting the game system as having the "wow" gift for the kids.

HAHA! yeah i dont know.. but i gotta tell you i played tiger woods 2007 and theres my WOW factor! it was like watching it on tv... unbelievable!

Well it is a great marketing strategy they use to create the hype. Some believe it is the fact that the first release is going to have glitches that will have to be fixed therefore the fewer units sony puts out the less they have to fix. I will wait a month or two to buy mine.

I heard that folks were camped out at the Futureshop and Best Buy on Merivale Road for 3 days BEFORE the damn things went on sale.......and I thought that I was bad lining up at Midnight to buy Halo 2 for the XBox on the day that it was released

yeah same here, everynight on the news they had like a coutdown and they would show people in tents camped out, and having tailgate BBQs in front of bestbuy.. only in the states would you see a tailgate party in front of a best buy HAHAHA

A buddy of mine bought pre-sell, lined up for about 2 hours in mid-October, picked up his PS3 and sold it for 2k. I like gaming, but 2 grand? Oh well, many people lined up in front of futureshop wouldn't have a couple grand invested in golf clubs either...
