Off Season Equipment Plans??
Well I know its early, and for lots of guys the season isn't over yet.. Just wondering if anyone had any equipment they were planning on adding to the bag over the winter... I myself have a couple of plans. I have norrowed my putters down to 2 for now, so hopefully that will stay the same (could be tough). I want to add a 18.5 Titleist 975F. I have had my 13.5 degree 975F in the bag for 6 seasons now and love it. Its the club I have had in there the longest by a long shot. Just added a Sasquatch Tour (have only had a couple of range sessions, feels good so far) But I will be giving the new Titleist driver a serious look. I am a huge Titleist driver fan and the new 907D2 looks like a bigger 983K, which IMHO was there best driver ever.. Anyway just like to hear about what others have planned..

Irons and Wedges getting reshafted with Black Gold X
Just reshafted my new R5 TP with an Accra SE80
Picking up a hybrid 2 Iron and possibly a 3 iron replacement, thinking of Nickent or Titleist but will wait and check out the new X Hybrid.

I have the following planned for the new year.
1. Wishon 525 GRT driver. This is the replacement for the most excellent performing, but somewhat fragile 515 GRT driver.
2. Adding a 3-hybrid (in the bag for sure) and a 2-hybrid (watch out 5W).
Nothing else planned for the gamer set at the moment other than random acts of shaft tweaking.

I'm going to have a proper fitting done and depending on how that goes, I might try and do away with my OEM obsession and have a proper set built for me.

Pretty happy with what I have, the only late season additions were a 905R and a Circa 2, which are working out great so far. I might get a 50* wedge if I come across a deal.

My new Cobra HS9 should be arriving any day now. I'm going to get the chrome stripped off a set of heads, custom grind them, port the short irons, and leave them raw. I have a set of DG X-100's waiting to go in those.
Other than that, it's time to tear down and rebuild my swing, once and for all...When applying the Rules, you follow them line by line. You don't read between them.

Callaway 4 wood, and, if I can find them at an affordable price, I would love to pick up a Cleveland 588 gap and lob wedge in satin finish.

Well, since the season officially ended for me on Oct 31st, I've done this to my bag so far this fall:
-Bought Cleveland Launcher 460Ti head from a OG member, only to decide to go another direction and pass it on to another lucky ho
-sold my Tour Edge Exotics head to a lucky OG member
-sold my Cleveland Launcher 460Ti w/Graf Blue to a lucky OG member
-picked up GD YS-7+ FW shaft from a OG member
-picked up Grafalloy Blue proto shaft from a OG member
-sold Graf Blue proto shaft to a lucky OG member
-picked up 3 Accuflex Evolution stiff flex shafts
-sold Accuflex Evolution Lite shaft
-bought Tour Edge Exotics 3 wood with 857 Speeder Pro Ti
-sold Callaway Hawkeye VFT fairway woods to a lucky OG member
Still on the hunt for a HiBore 3 wood, Halo 2h and a 50* Mizuno wedge. But I have to be patient...

Improving my ability:
- practice putting on my basement carpet (helped a lot this past year)
Finalize my clubs:
Driver - still debating a shaft change
Woods - just need a specific shaft for my 5wood
Irons - know the shaft but still thinking about the heads
Wedges - SMT wedges (still thinking about lofts and sole grinds)
Putter - just needs a lie adjustment and maybe a grip change
Lot of stuff to do but parts of it may be pushed into the 2007 season.Back at it.

Looks like I will have a fairly new setup next year, although I never intended to change so much. Just picked up set of Ping i3+ irons off eBay (did not expect to win the bid) that have always been my favourite OEM irons. Looks like they'll nudge my Maltby M-05s out of the #1 bag, but the Maltbys will never be too far away. Also have been testing an SMT Durometer 59* wedge with a graphite shaft for feel. Finally got it on the course the other day and once I got used to the massive spin it put on the ball (hit it to the hole damn it) it worked very well. Nice and soft with the graphite shaft. That means I will put together a 53* version as well. This new 60, 53, and 47 (Ping PW) combo will replace the Maltby M-Series 60,55,49 (plus M-05 PW) setup I played with the last few years. I found I almost never used the 49* and could almost deal with the gap between the 55 and 47 PW. This means the a spot opened up and the Ping 3 iron or existing 3I hybrid will get back in.
The bookends remain the same; Odyssey DFX 2-ball blade putter, 2I Wishon 321LI hybrid, Ashton X-1 3W, and Ashton MS-5 driver will all stay for another year.I don't have an ulcer - I am just a carrier.

I am planning on getting back to hitting my 5w. I want it back in the bag. Its too nice a club to be sitting in the closet. Considering a Gap wedge. Anyone know the average distance on one? Full swing?

A Gap wedge is between a PW and SW. My PW is 47*, my GW is 52, SW is 56*.
I hit my GW between 110-90, depending on wind conditions.
As for new additions to my bag for the spring. The BIG DOG. In 25 years of golf I can not recall buying a new driver! I always pick up good used ones, but if I can find one I truly like I will buy one. Other than that my current set up of Wishon 550C's should get me through another season. Unless a really sweet deal on a set of forged irons comes along! My opinions are my own, I do not follow others.

Bag is pretty much set after getting all my shafts upgraded, but I'm going to keep my eye open for a 54 and 58 Spin Milled Oil Can and have them shafted with some Spiners or PX's, thinking of droping down a half flex to a 5.5 for my wedges to see if I can get a little more feel out of it. Bought 6 dz Pro V1x's at the end of the season so good to go for balls for 2 seasons and everything else is working great, no need to change.

RACs
I am selling my RAC LTs and building a new driver, I was looking at the Alpha C-830 2 head with an Accra SC65 shaft. I am getting rid of the RACs not because they are not doing their job but becuase I bought a set of Srixons and they are absolutely outshining the RACs for distance with little loss in acuracy. The cash I make off the RACs will pay for the driver. If the driver outshines my R7 425 then I will sell that TM too. I have all winter to search Ebay for those items, it will keep me busy.

Too many changes for my bank balance
I have two KZG Evolutions made to my specs. Now I need to buy the rest to replace my X18s
I need either new woods or to get my current ones reshafted. Not sure about the current heads either so I will prob end up the expensive route of buying an OEM and getting it reshafted. Anyone have any ideas on available very square clubfaced heads? I am considering Titleist at the moment as I love the driver head shape.
Eventually would like to change my 905T for an R.
Finally need to get my hybrid/s reshafted or changed.
There you go pretty much across the board as I just bought a new putter.
