Cold Weather Golf Balls

Hi, I'm a 20 handicapper, and I sure dont hit a ball a country mile, but I would like to get as much as I can out of my equipment. I've read that theres all kinds of compressions and cover materials, but I thought I'd ask the people who actually use them. Any suggestions Make/Model?

Depends on your skill level and what you're looking for in a ball. IMO Pro V's are hands down the best balls on the market, but as a 20-handicap you'll probably not realize the full benefit of the ball. There's lots to choose from, but one of the best combinations of playabiltiy and cost can be found in the Maxfli Noodle.

In cold weather I use the Precept Ladie (same as the Precept Lady). Lower compression for colder weather IMO.

I have been using the noodle this fall and it seems to perform fairly well.

The past 4 days I have played in tempatures ranging from 2C at tee off time to 5C by time I am done 18 holes.
Still playing my normal NXT Tour's and they are fine. I am just about ready to switch to a lower compression ball though for the rest of the season.
I used to play the Dunlop Loco Crazy Long in cold weather. They are a 50 compression ball. Great cold weather ball IMO.

Thanks for the info guys... did some reading up on the web and you guys are all using the balls that the pros suggest.... I prefer to get my info from the guys who actually use them.....

Nike Power Distance Super Soft or Super Feel. Whichever is in the green box. Great all around ball for anytime of year.

Nike just launched the Juiced. Sounds like it could be a good cold weather candidate too.

Del... on Sunday I used a Noodle 'softest' model... great in the cold... actually, I liked it in not-so-cold weather too...

Fellow competitors have laughed at me and I'm sure you guys will too, but for kicks I picked up a box of the ????? Crystals at Golf Town a couple of weeks ago. They come in four sleeves of four different coloured balls. I find they allow me to maintain my driving and iron distances.

You lose a bit around the green (zero bite no matter what shot you try from a few dozen yards in!) but when it's +1 or +2 out there, they seem to perform decently.

It always helps a match when your opponent can't stop laughing at the ball you just pulled out and played... ;-)
