Silicone Spray to protect your putter

Has anyone ever tried this Silicone Spray on their Scotty Cameron putter(s)? What were the results?

The theory is that the silicone will protect the putter from water, the same as Baby Oil or 3-in-1 oil. The added benefit of the silicone is that it makes it impossible for fertilizer etc. to stick to your putter. The fertilizer can really speed up the rusting process thus the preference for silicone.

My question is really to see if anyone has tried this particular type of silicone spray. The lads on TCC like an electrical grade CRC brand of silicone that is in a blue can that I can't find anywhere in Ottawa

Thats the spray I use. Same can. I apply it after every use. Used my SD1 all year without a spot of rust on it, which is pretty good since they are prone to rust and I recall playing a lot in the rain this year. After every round I come home dry the putter spray it, wipe it with a silcon cloth and leave it out of the headcover until its time to play again. For the putters I have that I don't use, I apply baby oil.
