A draw goes farther because the club head comes into the ball along a more inside, shallower path and consequently, it flies lower and runs farther. A fade has a steeper arc and will fly higher and run less.

A draw has an inside path to the ball with a club face that is slightly less open in degrees than the angle of the club head is to the intended line of flight. IOW, a 2 degree open club face at separation with a 3 degree inside path, produces a true draw. Everything else is a hook.

It is virtually impossible for a conventional golfer to hit a straight ball because the grip is in the fingers and the hands/arms are rotating through the ball. Single axis players hit straighter shots because the lower hand grips the club across the palm and as a result there is less rotation and more bottom arm extension, through the ball. This is why Moe Norman hits the ball so straight. It's in the bottom hand grip.
