It was a high difficulty, creatively conceived, well calculated, well executed, extreme skill shot. A hole in one is good, but that, Grasshopper, is art.
Oh yeah, the logo was the icing on the cake for Nike.

for real dan... nike pays millions of dollars to make these comercials and I don't think they did as much as that one shot did. Its the most viewed tiger video on the internet for sure!
You playing any golf this week?

Oddly, even Tiger admits that shot was luck. He quotes 3 other shots as his top 3.
Incredibly fun to watch though.

I dunno after watching it several times, he looked at it really hard and calculated the angles intensely. Clearly 50% of the clip is him concentrating on the setup. That isn't luck.

that shot he hit out of the sand, over the water, galery and close to the green... canadian open I think... the shot in the dark was nothing special, he caddy tells him the yardage anyway so its not like he did anything other than hit the shot from teh fairway to the green...

I believe Tiger's greatest shot was from the sand trap on 18 during the final round of the Canadian Open

It is probably better than a hole in one because he had to think about it and then do it---a hole in one is pure luck!
Does the 2nd hole-n-one come easier ?

No doubt that the shots of Woods and Love were extremely exciting to watch and were important because of the circumstances, but how can anyone call them, the "greatest?"
A double eagle is much more rare than a chipin from around any green. Give anyone on this forum 100 balls, place them where Tiger or Davis were, and there is a good chance that he/she will hole one. Give anyone here 100 balls and put them 240 yards from a par 5 green and see how many will hole one. Does that put things in perspective?Last edited by BC MIST; 10-30-2006 at 07:33 AM.
