Thread: "THE" Marquee event of 2007!!!!!

I'd love to play - the only thing is it depends on the dates. Our AGF qualifying and Intersectional qualifyings fall around those dates and both events are 3-day events...
Put my name in as a "maybe"
The Mulligan Tour used to do a similar event at Trillium Woods and everybody loved the course.

Geoff
We had our Ryder Cup against a team from southern ontario at Trillium the last few years and got nothing but great service and price (2 rounds with carts for $110) from Trillium Wood GC. Even in 05' when the other team bailed at the last minute, they still honoured the same rate for our 14 guys (should have been 40 with 20 man teams).
If you want some more info about Trillium, just let me know.
Wish I could say I'd go but too many tournaments and road trips next year.I've spent most of my life golfing .... the rest I've just wasted"

I can wear a big camel costume and the humps can be coolers where I'll stash a whole bunch of beer for the Ottawa team...

You guys may need a qualifying event.
Put the best team forward and kick some TGN butt!

I think the way Geoff explained it, it would be first come, first served, which seems fair. If this is just a "friendly competition" then anyone should be allowed to compete. It's great to come out on top, but hell sometimes its just better to go out and have a hell of a time, especially in this game.
That being said, Let's go Kick some ***** lads!Let's put a Smile on that Face!

I don't know Hoolio, if a bunch of us that are extremely high cappers happen to be first on board, I don't think someone will be too happy.
Geoff, I can't speak for all high cappers, but I totally understand if you want to put a good team together and it wouldn't upset me one bit. I'd cheer for you the whole way.Donny Vantage NFL Guru, since 1974

Ladies and gentlemen, this event is just supposed to bring both our forums together to play some golf. But it seems like everyone wants us to represent the site as best as possible. So I'll leave it up to you guys. Do you want me to field the best possible team I can, or keep the format the way it is (first ten to sign up)? And depending on what is the general consensus, I will present this to my fellow opposing captain at TGN.
LMK what you all think. Because believe me, I have thought about a "dream team" that I could field for this. But thought it would be a good way to just get together for some golf with members of another forum, allowing anyone to enjoy this event."A life lived in fear of the new and the untried is not a life lived to its fullest." If it's going to be competitive, there should be a qualifier. Just my opinion
I only suggested it since there are so few spots and so much interest.

Not at all Dan, the thought had already crossed my mind. I'll just await racmbs' response. I know he's got some personal stuff that is occupying alot of his time right now. But he was so excited when I presented this to him, that it will just be a matter of time before we hammer out all the details. But putting two teams of some of our best players would be fun to do, but also just letting anyone compete would also be a blast. Updates will follow. This thing could be BIG, we do have all winter to plan it out.

Most people are quite easy going on this forum and would love to read about this event just as much as playing in it. My vote is to field the best team possible and whoop some GTA butt!!!!! Go Sens/Go Team OG!!!

Just to show you the level of interest, I won't mention who sent me this pm, but here's someone's reply to this event:
"haha, that's perfect because i would love to play in this, beating Toronto golfer is just as nice as beating Americans!!"
Is that not classic? Although he might have to retract that comment if ironmaster plays on our squad."A life lived in fear of the new and the untried is not a life lived to its fullest." M.Pare 10/09/08

I was more thinking of accepting all who would realistically play the event into the qualifier, assuming more than 12 want to play. The top 10 (plus Geoff and his pick) make up the team. If someone bails, the next player is on deck.
No biggie, just a suggestion for a way to handle the overflow and send the best we can at the same time.

Qualifier would be cool ... also helps you get to know your players games ... afterall if this becomes competitive, picking the right pairings is all on your shoulders, captain
Also there could be some damn good players that are interested that have yet to come out of the woodwork.NCGT Ryder Cup Team Green (06,07,08)
