Ways to make golf balls go farther
I was just wondering if there is any way to make a golf ball go farther (ex microwaving golf balls) and if anyone has ever tried them if they work.

Since Geoff doesn't play anymore, you could maybe talk him into riding around in the cart with you and hitting your drives for ya. That would probably make the ball go farther, no microwave required.

Forget the microwave idea
Play a lower compression ball once it gets cooler. Works for me, and I play when it is 3-5C
Dunlop Loco's seem to work fine in colder weather. But any ball with a low compression will work. I have never heated golf balls up before I played in cold weather. Straight out of the car and to the tee.My opinions are my own, I do not follow others.

How could a microwave work, unless you kept them in a thermal pouch or something? I would think that "hot shots" might work...

Here are some of the lower compression balls you might want to try in cold weather
The name of the ball and the compression rate beside it
DUNLOP SUPER LOCO 65
DUNLOP LOCO BITE 75
PRECEPT LADY S III 55
PINNACLE PINK RIBBON 55
CALLAWAY HX PEARL 70
HOGAN TOUR 70
MAXFLI RED MAX 60
NIKE SUPER FLY 65
If you go to the Knet website they actually list the compression rates for every ball they sell.
My choice of the above would be the Super Loco by Dunlop. As I said in my other post I have played those balls when it is 3-4 C with forged irons and they are soft. I did not notice much distance loss with those balls.
Hey we all look for ways to extend our golf seasons. A group of us will play until they close our course, which is usually early December. Dress properly and invest in some winter golf mitts. I am going to buy a pair that velcro right onto the handle of the 3 wheel carts. You just slip your hands in and out of them and they stay right on the handle.
Lots of golf left for this yearMy opinions are my own, I do not follow others.
