What's your off-season hobby?
I imagine for a lot of folks, it'll be hockey.... I play hockey in the winter, but my main hobby is a recording studio in my basement (100 times the recording capability the Beatles ever had, with 1/1,000,000th of the talent!)
Just curious what other folks do to pass the time once the snow flies....

I enjoy playing hockey and skiing as much as money will allow me to.

Use to bowl in a league, but with working shift work no matter what I join I can only show up every two out of four weeks, so cuts back on any league stuff. Mostly now just watch NHL, sit by the fire, and hibernate till spring comes again!!
I wanted to set up some kind of golfing simulator in the house, but the only room with tall enough ceilings is our livingroom, and the hubby said no golfing in the livingroom, and since two of the walls are complete picture windows that poses a problem. But I'm still workin on it........don't want to put the clubs away this year..I'm just getting them warmed up!!
Our other hobby so to speak is frequenting the casino's, but that is way more expensive than golfing is!!!

Skiing, but I'm still having a hard time enjoying it since we moved back from Calgary. Went from a season's pass at Sunshine to one at Vorlage, I'm still not over it 3 years later. I mostly snowboard now to keep it interesting.

I used to lay on the couch and eat chips etc, but that lead to a heart attack so I won't be doing that action this coming winter
My wife and I go watch the local JR B Hockey team play. We used to be heavily involved with the team, now we just go watch their games. Sort of miss billeting those hockey players.
My place of employment has opened a gym, so I am going to make use of that this winter. Use it, come out in the spring a LEAN MEAN GOLFING MACHINE
Oh yah, spend lots of time on here too! Keeping tabs on what Geoff is ho'ing over the winter months. He is like a squirrel right now, packing goodies away for the winterMy opinions are my own, I do not follow others.

For me, I would have to say working out. I'm always in top physical form when I start the golf season and all the beer makes me fat again which i work off again in the winter. Other than working out I would have to say... buying summer clothes, I shop like a woman!

During the off season I do a lot of work with coins and gems, I enjoy making sure people don't get ripped off from dealers and others trying to make a fast buck. Today I'm looking at a collection of coins and I will advise what to shoot for as far as an asking price, all the while keeping it realistic, after all you do want to sell them for an honest price. When it comes to coins and gems knowledge is power and I charge only 1 percent commission to get or sell what they want.

The last few winters have been taken up by work, R&D on my RC HeliCam project, golf lessons and GolfOMax.
This winter, more of the same but without the lessons and I think I'm gonna revisiit the Bowling alley. I used to love to bowl in my teens.

Play in two hockey leagues, about 4 games/practices a week. Workout, snowboard and I'm always taking some sort of university course to stay current. Makes the winter go by pretty fast!

Holy crap! That is the best idea i've seen heard in a long time! As to where I have been and if I was sleeping... I usually can tell what a thread is about based on the title and I just assumed dan broke par when I saw that title. I know his record so far is 79 at manderly so I thought... wow, good stuff the old man broke par! I guess I should read more threads!!!! The more threads I read the more threads I can post it... good point dan
But seriously, awesome pictures!
I would imagine you could do shots for outdoor weddings as well! I can just picture what a shotl ike that would look like and be worth to the bride and groom!

I'll be working on my swing indoors until I head south for a couple of months of winter golf so I hope to not have a lot of off-season. May take a few days of being a tourist while south.

Winter sport!
I am rejoining a curling league this winter. We curl every Friday at 9pm. I did that one season about three years ago, it was quite fun. I also play at Golfomax once in a while. Thi year i also plan to get back into a gym somewhere, have to get back some distance off the tee so that I won't get made fun off by "you know who".

Hockey, couch, tv, poker, football. And beer...beer is a hobby, right?
Used to be only hockey, when I was in Ottawa....5 hours a day at the outdoor rink. No such luxury in Victoria.

To fill in the time formerly alloted to golf, I fix more computers, and play cards, as in Bridge. Both online and in a regular group.
