golf exercise
Leave the car at home. Take the Local transit/bus.
Chase/hurry up to catch the bus.
It will also mitigate your car expenses and pollution.
To quote Stepane Dion "its good for your wallet, its good for your planet"
You will find it refreshing, if you commute by bus.
Lots of sightseeing scenery, not to forget fit abled bodies (girls and guys).
To quote moi
"what is this life if, full of car,
leaves us no time to stand and stare"
Actually I want to share the verse by W. H. Davies lest you complain that I plagiarized
Leisure
WHAT is this life if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare?—
No time to stand beneath the boughs,
And stare as long as sheep and cows:
No time to see, when woods we pass,
Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass:
No time to see, in broad daylight,
Streams full of stars, like skies at night:
No time to turn at Beauty's glance,
And watch her feet, how they can dance:
No time to wait till her mouth can
Enrich that smile her eyes began?
A poor life this if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.
Note: We contribute more than $400 in municipal taxes for our transit systemGolf is the Total System Integration of............The Sum of All Parts............

All things in moderation
Guess that's my point, avoid strenuous exercise. I believe in walking, climbing stairs, swinging a weighted club, and perhaps gentle stretching, or yoga.
There is more than a hint in the medical research that strenuous exercise actually accelerates the aging process and shortens life span. I believe that life span is mostly genetic, but you can shorten it through bad habits.
For many years I ran 35 miles per week. I spent hundreds of hours playing singles tennis, mostly in high heat and high humidity. This could have played a role in my heart attack at age 49.Last edited by rhh7; 12-04-2006 at 07:44 AM.

I've got a good buddy that is considered a bit of a fitness guru amongst his peers. Now 56 and just completed the El Camino in Spain (walked all 900 km), has done the Everest Base Camp, hiked the Grand Canyon, cycled Ottawa / PEI and plans a Florida/Ottawa bicycle trip in the new year. His wisdom is that climbing stairs is one of the better exercises, and that you are only fit for what you train for. Thus, the weighted club and ,alot, will help not only your game but your quality of life .
