Miami Dolphins
Now I'm not a big NFL fan. I do follow it somewhat though. Just heard on TSN that SI has picked the Dolphins to make it to the Super Bowl. Have they made that many improvments during the offseason? I remember them being not that great last year.

As I recall, Fundonny is down on Culpepper's knee. I am a Dolphin fan but there has been way too much hype about this team because of a) Culpepper and b) the 6 game winning streak to end the season last year. I bet you can't read any NFL season preview without those two facts being mentioned. After watching the preseason, Culpepper looks good in the pocket, but not so good outside of it. We'll see how he comes along through the season, but he looks pretty limited to me right now. And he was terrible last year before he hurt his knee (bad o-line was a part of it, but still). Better than Frerotte though. Their front seven on the defence is awesome, the secondary is thin with injuries. O-line is starting to round into form, decent receivers and a good rb in rb. The biggest thing in their favour is their schedule, which is filled with weak teams and got even a bit weaker when Rothlesburger (sp?) went out. I see them as a solid playoff team, but I'm not feeling the super bowl yet. I'm sure I'll get caught up in it soon though.

Only one thing you need to know about Culpepper... Look at his ball after he releases it. Terrible. Take it from a QB, his mechanics are just disgusting right now. Joey Harrington, he'll do better in that system. I know it sounds crazy, but it's true.

His ball was diving all over the place, it was terrible. Harrington doesn't work in that system IMO because he can't chuck it, he's a dink and dunk guy. Their hope is that Culpepper gets better over time while their d keeps them in it. The secondary needs to get healthy for that scenario to work. Their schedule will help.

The dolphins look like crap - they can't even beat the Bills. Buffalo on the other hand, even with JP "what's a touchdown" Losman, managed to pull out a win. Their defence looks like its back to its normal self, even without Takeo. If the Defence keeps stepping up, and Mcgahee keeps up his solid play, the Bills could have a not terrible season. Dare to dream Arnold, dare to dream.

You know who's ticking me off right now? Denver. I need them to cover and I'll win a $1000 proline.

Falcons or Bears from the NFC. San Diego or Indy from the AFC.

I like the Ravens in the AFC. Their defence looks dominant as ever, and they finally have a QB to compliment their running game. They're my early pick to win the SuperBowl. I think you'll be looking at the Seahawks to take the NFC title. They didn't look that sharp in week one, but they've looked great so far today, and that stadium is hell to play in for the opposing team.

I don't think even the Bears can stop Mike Vick. Dude is a freak!
