how do I edit a video?

I have a 700mb AVI file that i need to edit. There is a 1 min clip in he middle of the 2hr file... how do I get just that 1min clip as a seperate file??

Type in video editing in the search field
Choose one of the free programs that has a description closest to what you want to do
Download, install and voila, bob's your uncle.
