It could be worse. CTV could have hired Bobby Clampet! In my opinion, Rod Black is merely useless as a golf announcer but Clampet has to be the most aggravating commentator in golf.

Black is about as annoying as they come. If you want a good laugh go here and enter BLACJ, then go check under Rod Black He is ROD BLACK THE HACK

Then there is Phil Jonas. he comments on 18 that Byrrd might want to make his putt for birdie. WELL NO S**T PHIL, no wonder you never made it past the Canadian Tour

Unfortunately Rod has nude pictures of the president of CTV with his dog or something and he's not going away.

He is their "marquee" announcer and gets all the big events for every sport. Unless he pulls a Marv Albert, we're stuck with him.

Yup! He is terrible, not only on golf telecasts, but on all other sports as well. His mind is filled with cliches and has nothing original to offer.

My wife likes to watch skating and if you think he is bad on golf telecasts, just listen to him on skating ones.

Yeah, I tuned in late and heard something about a possible infraction to be determined, on byrd I think.
Black didn't explain what happened, but I figured they must have talked enough about it earlier.
But then watching the last hour or more, about 10 more times he goes on and on about how byrd must be feeling, over and over.

All while not explaining the problem, plus not adding anything new. rrrrrreally irritating.

One of the most comical Rod Black moment was during skating telecast where the camera caught a bored Stojko in the audiance and Black went something like "There's Elvis, the original King Quad...YESSSS!"

Done and done. The most worrying thing to me is the fact that CTV has the Olympic coverage for future years. Please, everybody get emailing. It's one thing to have to listen to him for one weekend. Imagine what will happen when he's on for 2 weeks straight!.
