    Smile First Season Excitement!

    Hi Everyone,

I'm 28 and live in the GTA. Over the last 18 years I've played a few rounds here and there but never took it seriously.

This year I bought a full bag and signed up for a package of 5 lessons in the early summer. After a lot of practice, last week I broke 100 for the first time at Osprey Valley Heathlands and shot 94(45 front/49 back).

I'm looking forward to participating on this board!!

    Cheers.

    Ha!

I guess the newbie wouldn't be a newbie without a bit of friendly jabs.;-)

I bought an R5 Driver/R7 Woods, 3 and 5 steels/R7 XD irons 3-PW/Vokey Oil Can 54*, currently in the market for another wedge and odyssey putter.

Nah, nothin to do with being a newbie, everyone is a target for 'friendly' jabs, some more than others

Man this cat is new to the game and has newer sticks than I do!

Forget that Odyssey putter and buy a YES PUTTER.

Welcome to the forum and the game of golf and nice score for a beginner.

    Thanks GolfBum....

I have a good buddy ITB and I got the whole bag for less than 50 to 60% of the retail price. And I got the wedge slightly used.

    What's a YES putter?

YES Putters patented the C Grooves in the face of the putter. C Grooves take the spin off the ball when the putter face strikes the ball. Which in turn causes the ball to roll truer towards the hole.

I use the YES TracyII and love that putter.

Retief Goosen won the 2004 US Open using a YES Tracy.

37 LPGA players at the CN Open in London had YES putters in their bags.

Here is the YES Canadian Website. You can buy YES Putters at any well known Golf Store.
