Looking for Recommended Shaft for TM 580Xd

Looking for some advice on which shaft to choose.


Need it to be X-stiff, High flex point (because I hit it way to High)


Any Ideas?

Tough to recommend without seeing your swing.

What's your backswing and downswing tempo like?

What's your transition like?

What is your usual ball flight tendancy?

There is many questions that need to be answered before a good recommendation can be made.

Have you been to a club fitter/pro to determine that you need X-stiff?

Both X-stiff and high flex point don't really have any standard meaning since every manufacturer, not too mention shaft, is different.

Also, ball flight is more a function of driver loft and angle of attack than shaft selection.

My Back swing and downswing is fairly smooth, and my transition is not jerky, My ball flight tendency is high and has a slight fade with little to no roll. Drives average over 285 so I only guessed that I need an Xstiff. The current shaft is a YS-7 stiff but since I started hitting it I've never liked the feel of that shaft. The loft on my 580 is 8.5 degree.

Geoff and John are bang on with each of there comments.Anyone who would recommend a shaft for you on this thread is nothing more than a fan of that particular shaft. A different shaft will only help your woes so much. It sounds like a combination of swing fault and shaft selection.
