Bending a 54* Wedge
I'm not sure if this is the proper place for these questions but I'll ask it here anyway....
I have a 54* Cleveland wedge that I really wish was a 56* Cleveland wedge. Would it be reasonable to have my 54* bent to become a 56*? Is this something that is common or would I be better off to try and trade it for a factory 56* wedge? Finally, if bending it is a valid option, where would one get this done.
Many thanks and sorry if this isn't the right forum for these questions.

It's something common and can be done by any clubmaker with a loft and lie bending machine. The only set back to this method is that by weakening the loft 2 degreesyou will also alter the bounce angle by 2 degrees whis is really no problem if you hit down on the ball.

Saint - Thanks for the offer!!! Once I get my head wrapped around what bending the club is actually doing to its playing characteristics I'll get in touch with you if I decide to go with the bend vs. a trade.
The knowledge around here is staggering...

If you weaken the loft you increase the bounce angle by the same amount and vice versa if you go the opposite way. Example :original bounce angle 4 degrees and 54 degree loft.
If you change the loft to 56 then the bounce angle is now 6 degrees. Not to worry if you are a good ball striker and if you generally hit down on the ball.Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.

As for the record, I'll be using the wedge from both the fairway (probably the rough) and the sand.

Why do you want to change the loft ? Before you do anything, just make sure your wedge is actually @ 54*. That would be your first order of busisness.
