Greetings - looking for kid's clubs

Hi. I have been looking around here since the winter months hoping to spot a deal on some clubs for myself. But the deals seem to be snapped up fast here. Oh well. I will keep looking. What prompted me to register was my ten year old son's recent first ever game at the 9 hole Pontiac in Quebec. From his play and score, he seems to have some natural ability. The clubs he used were borrowed. I wonder if any of you folks wouldn't mind giving me a hint on a good place to find some used clubs for a kid in the Ottawa region. Or maybe you have some for sale.

    Thanks,
    D. Scott

I have a set of Executive golf clubs, irons and 2 woods. They are well used, and could be improved with a new set of grips. I have a smaller older red golf bag, only a few pockets, but lots of room for golf balls. Altogether, including applicable taxes we know and love, the grand sum total I would like to receive from you in exchange for this setup is simply 1 thank you.

    Take that mr taxman, LOL.

Only catch is you have to come and get them. Near Nepean Sportsplex.

That is very kind of you. Would they be the right size for a 4'10", 90 lb kid who hits right handed?

    Thanks,
    Scott

Well I would say yes in that I personally found them shorter than other sets (one of the reasons I stopped using them), and I suspect they are perhaps a set of ladies clubs. My wife is about 5'4" and she used them for a few rounds quite successfully, back when she golfed.

I am just happy to put set of clubs into the hands of a youth to help out. I still have another set as well that I am saving for my daughter, she seems half interested in golfing.

DScott if they don't work out you can always pass them on to another kid here.

It is all good eh? Clubs were picked up, and hopefully this new junior golfer will find them suitable. I even threw in an extra 9W that was sitting in another golf bag.

Thanks again Kevin for the nice gesture. Good golf karma for you. My son looked impressed. I will make sure to similarly pass them along for free when he is bigger. I saw the 9W. He asked when you would use that club. I said I don't know. I think I will get the clubs regripped. I wonder if anyone has recomendations for a cheap regrip place in West Ottawa?

You are welcome. I am pleased your son is happy with them. The 9W might prove useful for situations in the light rough, where he wants to get the ball up in the air quickly and still get some distance.

I agree they needs new grips, but I do not personally know anything at all about where to go, or how to do-it-yourself.

Hey Kevin. My 10 year old has used your clubs a couple of times and seems impressed. I still plan to regrip them. His favorite is the 9W. He thinks its a 6W. We are having fun. I don't play that much myself but got an eagle on a dogleg Par 4 at a little 9 holer near my cottage. Second shot about 150 yards with a seven iron in the hole. lol. Yeehaw. Never happen again. I think I've only ever had one or two birdies in my life. Thanks again for the sticks for the kid.

Glad to hear the boy is enjoying the clubs and I am sure regripping as all they need to make them like new again. Congrats on your eagle, mine was the same idea. I duffed a drive on #1 at Chaudiere (now Chateau Cartier) then smacked the second shot about 210 yards with a 4 iron, it rolled up the green and dropped into the hole. That is what we call a FABIO.
