Michelle Wie leading after 2nd round
She is 9 under and tied with webb and Ochoa.. shot a 6 under today. Could this be it? Her first win?? I sure as hell hope so. Looks like you all got your wish, the wie hype has died down. But if she gets her first win... all the hype about her will be 10 fold and you won't be able to change the channel without seeing her face. Go weeeeeese!!!!!!!

Hey maybe if she gets a humungous lead, she can still fall apart on Sunday and still win.
Possible new strategy?
I heard she may get advice at dinner.
She's dining with Natalie Gulbis and Sergio Garcia"Chicks dig me, because I rarely wear underwear and when I do it's usually something unusual"

Michelle Wie is going to be one of the most dominant players on the PGA and LPGA tours. She is 16 and putting on more and more weight, that will mean more and more distance. Long bombin? No problem. Putting? Experience will help (how many of us had solid putters at 16?)? Marbles in her mouth? She is 16, experience and maturity will prevail.
Any bets?

Disappeared.
Sound familiar?"Chicks dig me, because I rarely wear underwear and when I do it's usually something unusual"

PGA tour, no. She really is not that long (bottom of the PGA average) and will never be long on the mens' tour. However, I think she can compete, make cuts, etc. Unfortunately I think by turning pro she threw away her only avenue to get into the Masters, i.e., Amateur events. She damn well nearly got in last year via the Publinx (beat in quarters by eventual winner). But I don't think she will ever be able to get into the Masters via the standard qualifying criteria. But she will qualify for a US Open at some point - she was close this year in a strong qualifier field.
Hopefully she will have success against the men and make golf a sport girls want to play. Just like Tiger is dragging male atheletes into golf who would otherwise want to do baseball, etc., hopefully Wie will eventually pull young girls into the sport.

Michelle has certainly learned how to finish second. She is very impressive, but, in my humble opinion, she still needs to master a few shots to move into the winner's circle. She played the par 3 17th hole in 2 over during the tournament. This should be a relatively easy short hole that plays downhill. During the third round, its effective distance was around 100 yards. I saw her airmail the green by at least 10 yards during the 3rd round play. It was not so much that she missed, but how she missed. She took a full backswing with a high lofted club and then attempted to decelerate in the downswing. This is a formula for disaster. This may also explain why in the first two rounds she zoomed over the same green by 20 yards and, in the other round, was short by quite a few yards. I didn't see what she did today, but she needs to master this "money" shot if she wants to get her hands on a trophy. Don't get me wrong. I think that she will get there, but it will take time. At times, and this is but one example, her inexperience manisfests itself clearly. I can tell you one thing. Paula Creamer, who shot 65 today, has that shot.

I wrote this morning that Michelle Wie's career is going to be more like Phil Mickelson's then Tiger's. Nothing to sneeze at of course, Phil is a great player. But she won't be the Tiger of the LPGA Tour, that's Annika, and I can't see anyone coming up that can replace her.
