Metcalfe Golf & Country Club
Planning on going out to Metcalfe with a group on Saturday and have never played there. Wondering if it's a nice course, and what course it would be comparable to in the city.

ARe you playing the 18 or the 9 ?
The 18 is a nice little course, its a tale of 2 nines... first 6 holes are part of original 18 then you play a new 9 that is head and shoulders above the rest of the course and then the final 3 holes of the original front 9...... Greens are ok on original course but newer 9 is awesome..... also be aware you DO NOT come back to clubhouse in between 9's..... you do pass a cargo/canteen hut on the way to the 7th hole and again before 16 so be aware and enjoy

We're playing the 18 hole course for sure. So you'd say half the course is really nice, and the rest is ok? Just asking because I have a friend that can be pretty picky about the courses he plays. How are the fairways, and tee boxes?

If he's picky he should know better than going to a 40$ course. If he's picky but wants the best bargains ... I have no solution for you. It's fun though; Green #6 is the worst hands down.

I played the course in a tournament 2 weeks ago. The greens on the original holes were in bad shape. Some of them had nearly no grass at all. The greens on the new holes were all very nice. The course overall is not bad. The pace of play is normally very good and the staff is friendly. The only complaint from me are the greens but they might have improved in the last 2 weeks.

There are tons of $40 courses out there in good condition. But some are in very poor condition. I played Les Vieux Moulins on Sunday, has potential of being a super nice course. Their fairways were rock solid and mostly dead grass. Really nice greens though.
So basically the concensus is that the new 9 at Metcalfe is really nice, and the old 9 is ok.
Gives me something to go on, thanks!

Vieux Moulin fairway will always be rock solid because of the ground they built it on is like that. Take advantage of the extra yards on your drive
