Has anyone ever had a hole in one on a par 5?
I was speaking to BG458 out this and he said with all the rounds that have been played world wide in the last 150 years (prefessional and amateur) that someone, someonewere, somehow much have holed the tee shot on a par 5. I told him that its possible but not probable. The shortest par 5 I've ever seen is 435 yards and because of the water it would require a 435 yard carry. Anyone know or anyone, heard of anyone holing a tee shot on a par 5?

Best I could find on Google so far is a par 4 / 444 yards hole in one.

For those of you to lazy to click the link..
The 1996 edition of the Guinness Book of Records seemingly replaced Mitera's ace with a 1995 hole-in-one by Shaun Lynch, done on the 496-yard, par-5 17th at Teign Valley Golf Club in Christow, England. That's a dogleg-left hole, downhill from the turn, and Lynch cut across the dogleg. In fact, he used a 3-iron off the tee. His shot actually traveled less distance than Mitera's, but his ace occurred on a longer hole.
WOW, a hole in one on a par 5 with a 3 iron??? I guess I was wrong ONCE AGAIN!!! Am I ever going to win a match in match play? Am I ever going to be right about a golf arguemnt? maybe I should just retire from this stupid game

How about the one at the bottom of the story? 517 yards straightaway!!
When applying the Rules, you follow them line by line. You don't read between them.
