Congratulations BC Mist
BC MIST (aka Lyle Alexander) has won the OVGA Senior Field Day as his home course of Greensmere with a fine score of even par 72.
Well done BC MIST
Speaking of Greensmere, what's the status of the 3rd nine holes originally scheduled to be opened in 2006 and the 4th nine holes for 2007? Will they be ready in time?

72! BC must be slipping in his old age!
Well done Lyle, wish I had your game at any age!

Incredible. I still can't believe that its even possible to shoot 72, let alone for an amateur. Congrats.

As I reported some other time, the third nine will be very interesting with more water in play, more elevated greens and more length (3680 yards - par 37). These numbers will change when the final 9 holes are completed, hopefully in 2007, when there will be a balanced par of 36 - 36. gbower and I measured the second green last Friday and it will in fact, be 90 yards from front to back. Hmm!! I wonder how many will be able to get down in 2 from 250'?
When all is complete we will have 3 very good nines and in time and $$$$, the existing front nine will be re-done to some extent, with better drainage, more contoured fairways, and trees and bunkers added.
The current ground conditions are the best that I have seen since it opened. We are playing the ball down (as one should) with 24 of 25 lies - perfect, asuming you hit the fairway. The greens are rolling very smoothly, about 8.5 to 9 on the Stimp and the fescue on the mounds has been cut.

Great news Lyle,
Do you know if there's anything online to view the layout of the new nine?

That's cool because not 2-3 months ago you couldn't see it. They recently updated their maps.
