WOW, who would have thought pirates would be the highest opening weekend ever??? 135mil??? beat the sipdey suit of toby by almost 20mil. Beat star wars highest daily gross by over 5 mil (55mil opening). Anyone seen it yet? I loved the first one. I can't beleive Depp gets paid so much money to dress and act like he does almost every day anyone. Hardly acting... freak!

Depp is awesome, Edward Scissor Hands, who else could do that but Depp or Mick Jagger. I remember when he was in 21 Jump Street. I might just take the wife to see if this week.

It was quite good, obviously very expensive to make. Rather long though and a bit repetitive I thought. It could have been cut down some. I think in general the family enjoyed it, but wouldn't put it on top of the list. We all preferred SpiderMan. I really like Johnny Depp though.

REAAAAAAAALLY good - you've just got to love the combination of action, comedy, and the greatest special effects ever. I saw Superman a couple weeks ago, and was blown away by the special effects...then I saw Pirates and Superman looked like it was made 30 years ago. I saw Pirates on opening night...theatre was packed, and the number of people dressed up really crappily as pirates was a little frightening. Wicked movie though. Orlando Bloom is a sissy, as he is in all his movies - I swear he was born to play the emasculated hero(ine?). Johnny Depp has got to be pretty much the best actor of our time - wicked awesome - and his portrayall of Keith Richards is spot on. Definitely a must see in theatres - renting a dvd wouldn't do it justice. Long, but not too long. It ends right when it needs to.

Are we talking about the Pirates of the Carribean sequal? The original was total crap, I quit after 1/2 an hour. If this sequal was playing on tv tonight, I'd rather watch the q-ray pendant infomercial on the golf channel.

Bah, the Spiderman movies were both crap. Bad acting, pedestrian special effects. Although, the first half hour of the first Pirates was a little slow...but you quit, just before it got good.
