    Cool I hope so.....

Last year, he seemed to be non-motivated throughout the season. Maybe his fall in ranking has given him some more incentive to play better this year. You are right though ...... he did look like the Mike Weir we remember.

    Talking Welcome Back Mike!!

    It's true ................. he's back!

Great to see the old Mike Weir again. Now that he has returned to his old set up and swing, I hope this is going to be his best year on tour. I like the way he kept it all in check today. Kinda questioned his second on 18 but we didnt get to see the lie. Great way to finish .... birdie, birdie, birdie.

    Weir Wins

Congratulations to Mike Weir for a gutsy birdie, birdie, birdie finish and win at the Hope. Looks like Mike has found his grove again.

What has impressed me this year is his stability in the last round. Last year, the final round always seemed to be his worst. He's been much more consistant through all of his rounds this year. Also, the average round on Sunday at the Hope was 75, or so I saw on the Golf Channel, when Weir shot a 67.
It could be that the purpose of your life is only to serve as a warning to others.

I can't believe how the knuckleheads sitting in the booth second guessed his course management on 18.
He has over 200 yds, downhill lie, over water, front pin, on a fast green, and they're saying laying up is a bad play?
I guess by the same logic, Jay Haas made a good decision hitting into the water.

Good for Mike Weir, he deserves it.

    Question canadian

I like Mike and I am very happy that he won. Deep down though I wonder if he still views himself as a Canadian?

    Thumbs up what?????

    Andre
Ever see the hats he wears????? Always has a canadian flag on them somewhere and I beleive also on his golf bag. As far as I can remember he is proud to be canadian, speaks volumes about home and want to break George Knudson's record of most PGA victories by a canadian golfer. Half way there Mike!

Also not a bad hockey player when he was yunger.

    will do

Will do Steve. I had never noticed that before and did not know about his goals. Last I heard he was living in Utah and was wondering if he was to pull a Greg Rusedski(tennis player) on us. Thanks.

I've always heard him talk about being a Canadian and it is true, his hat and golf bag both show the maple leaf. As for living in Utah I think it has as much to do with several factors:

travel - Salt Lake is a major hub for Delta and is a bit more centrally loacted than any Canadian city

taxes - I believe lower than in Canada

proximity to his wife's family - she's from California, they met at BYU in Salt Lake

Also, if you've ever been there, Salt Lake is a really nice city - clean and just the right size (not to big or to small). It's a
lmost like a Canadian city south of the border.

    Talking in today's Ottawa Sun

This from a quote in today's paper through canadian press..........
I felt like, in some way, and on some level, I kind of let them down (in 2002) - not from lack of trying - but I didn't play up to where I wanted to. I want to take Canadian golf to another level....
    Go Mike Go!

Nice quote Steve I think that pretty much sums it up.
